Hi, I'm looking forward to my weekend soon in Mumbai and have read SO many of these questions and great replies here and now have a few of my own..
I'm solo, staying in Colaba ( of course!) and will be on foot scouring local market areas and shops hoping to find simple, well made cotton kurtis but also household shops that sell eg a small size mixi, other cute kitchen gadgets etc as I enjoy to cook indian food. (Can't wait to sample as much as I can too!) I'm guessing Crawford market for these? Any tips are appreciated.
I know I'm in heritage area but as I'm also interested in the colonial history (don't hate me!) Are there any tips on where i may visit? History museum ?
Also which area is good for looking at furniture ( again old style ) & house fittings? I probably can't buy but maybe there are also some 2nd hand type shops to poke around in!
Thankyou for anyone's ideas.

Fashion Street. Colaba Causeway. Linking Road.

Chor Bazaar, maybe. Crawford Market maybe. Bandra Station market, maybe.
// kitchen gadgets //
Take advice from your hotel - this might require specific stores rather than a street market.
Much appreciated, thankyou.
