Advise Itinerary Thailand 3 weeks

Hi! I am planning my trip to Thailand for next month and would like to share my itinerary to confirm whether it makes sense and is doable. My boyfriend and I enjoy a mix of nature, history, relaxation, and adventure, and we are not looking for party-oriented activities.

Here is the itinerary I have planned:

Bangkok – 3 days

Ayutthaya – 1 day (then take the train to Chiang Mai)

Chiang Mai – 3 days

Chiang Rai – 2 days

Pai – 2 days (from Chiang Rai back to Chiang Mai, then continue to Pai)

Khao Sok – 1 day (flight from Chiang Mai to Surat Thani, then transfer to Khao Sok)

Khao Sok National Park – 1 day

Krabi – 3 days

Koh Phi Phi – 1 day

Koh Lanta – 2 days

Bangkok – return flight

I would like to ask if it is worthy to go to Pai or Ko Lanta so i think the itinerary is a bit tied. I like to see as much as possible so I do not think I am coming back for long time...

Thank you!

Hi,

It looks a bit rushed to me; I would say that since I am a very slow traveller. I certainly would think carefully about visiting Pai and Phi Phi island, do consider the travel time needed for both, especially Pai.

OP, you might want to drop Pai. This is another backpackers haven, not much to see.

Hi, I would make a choice between Pai or Chiang Rai. We have not been to Chiang Rai, but did pass through Pai twice for a few days and enjoyed it despite it usual somewhat negative reputation. As a stand-alone destination, I might suggest that there are more authentic and interesting but Pai has a pleasantly lush environment, river and hot springs and just about every kind of western, Thai and whole food. Cycling around on one of Papa's bikes gave us a good work out. There used to be a primo live music venue but it got shut down and I wonder if any other bars there have taken on providing a stage for original live music rather than just pop covers. Whichever you choose, you are likely to have a good time, but better not to take on too many destinations. happy travels

Id skip Chiang Mai. Cut bangkok to 2 nights

Use those three days for PhiPhi/.

Krabi meaning where? its a big province.

Railay going the way opf phuket and samui at alarming speed.

Look at Kradan or Lipe instead of Lanta to see more nture and less people.

I'd drop Chaing Rai and include an extra day in Pai and night in Chiang Mai before flying south.

Pai has a lot to see and do. It's a bit hard to get to but well worth it.
