Krewe of Boo

Hi all. If anyone is visiting around Halloween and interested, VIP tickets for the Krewe of Boo parade viewing parties are now available for purchase via the Krewe of Boo website. They are for the Sheraton on Canal and Crescent City Brewhouse. Hella expensive but open bar, food and private bathrooms are included. We would watch on the street but will have my 78 y/o mother with and seats and a bathroom are a must for her. I’ve been waiting all month for them to go on sale so I thought I’d share in case anyone else is interested. They apparently sell out fast. Any tips regarding these VIP viewing parties are also welcome as it will be our first time. First time for this Halloween parade as well and we are super excited! Thanks everyone!

The Krewe of Boo Halloween parade in New Orleans is a fantastic event, and it’s great that you're considering the VIP viewing party options for a more comfortable experience, especially with your mother. The VIP tickets, which include access to exclusive viewing areas, open bars, food, and private bathrooms, are definitely a premium choice, but for many people, they’re worth the extra cost—especially for a parade like this, where street crowds can be heavy and finding a comfortable spot is key.

Here are some tips and things to keep in mind for your first Krewe of Boo experience:

  • Arrive Early: VIP tickets may guarantee you a spot, but the best places in the viewing areas can fill up fast. Arriving early ensures you get the best view for the parade, and you can enjoy the food and drinks without feeling rushed.
  • Dress for the Weather: October in New Orleans can be warm, but it can also get chilly in the evenings. Be sure to bring layers or a light jacket, as you might be outside for a while even in the VIP area.
  • Food and Drink: Since the VIP ticket includes food and drinks, make sure to check out the menu and drink options beforehand. Some viewing areas might even feature special themed cocktails or local dishes, so don’t miss out on sampling some of the local flavors!
  • Plan for Accessibility: Since you'll be with your mother, it’s great that the VIP area has private bathrooms and seating. Make sure to mention her accessibility needs when purchasing tickets to ensure the best seating and ease of access for her.
  • Parade Timing: The Krewe of Boo parade typically starts in the evening, so plan for a few hours of festivities. It’s common for floats, dancers, and performers to make their way along the route, with lots of fun and lively moments throughout. Don’t forget to bring some candy bags to collect the throws!
  • Security and Bags: Like any large event, be prepared for security checks at the entrances. Try to bring a small bag or backpack to keep things simple, as large bags may not be allowed in certain areas. Also, ensure you bring anything you may need for your mother, like medications or personal items, just in case.

Aside from the parade itself, the Krewe of Boo also sets the tone for New Orleans' Halloween celebrations with creative costumes, spooky floats, and plenty of fun for the whole family. It’s definitely a one-of-a-kind experience and a great way to get into the Halloween spirit while enjoying the city’s rich cultural vibe.

Have a fantastic time at the Krewe of Boo! It’s sure to be a memorable experience, and the VIP options will certainly help make it more enjoyable for both you and your mother.
