Logan express parking issues?
Logan Express is warning of potential problems with not enough parking at their Framingham location. They don’t mention anything about an overflow lot or other arrangements. They just advise that people get a ride to the bus and get dropped off. That isn’t feasible for us since we are coming from over 2 hours away. Does anyone know of an alternate parking location or another simple way to get to Logan? Thank you.
If you’re planning to use the Logan Express from Framingham and are concerned about limited parking, there are a few alternatives and tips to consider. The Framingham lot has a limited number of spaces, and during peak travel times it can fill up quickly, which is why the service often suggests being dropped off rather than parking.
Some options to manage this include:
- Check for nearby off-site parking: While Logan Express doesn’t advertise overflow lots, some nearby commercial or municipal lots may allow long-term parking. Calling ahead to confirm availability and fees is recommended.
- Consider alternate Logan Express locations: There are other Logan Express routes, such as Worcester or Braintree. These lots may have more availability depending on your travel schedule, though it may require a longer drive.
- Ride-sharing or local taxi services: If parking is unavailable, arranging a ride from your home or a park-and-ride location could be a practical alternative. This can be cost-effective compared to parking fees at the airport.
- Hotel park-and-fly packages: Some hotels near the airport offer “park, stay, and fly” packages where you can leave your car while traveling. This may be more convenient than trying to find a spot at the Logan Express.
Additional suggestions:
- Arrive very early in the day if you plan to park at the Framingham lot, especially during holidays or school vacation weeks, to secure a space.
- Call Logan Express ahead to ask about real-time availability or potential overflow arrangements they may have implemented recently.
- Consider splitting your travel: park at a closer commuter rail station in Boston with long-term parking, then take the T or a shuttle to the airport.
Overall, planning ahead is essential, as parking at the Framingham Logan Express lot can be unpredictable. Using alternate routes or off-site options may save you stress and ensure you reach Logan Airport on time.
