We have a trip planned to Branson mid June. My wife's immune system is compromised and so she is not to be in crowds. We are both 70. Do you think shows, shopping, etc will all be crowded?
Branson can be a wonderful destination, but with your wife’s compromised immune system, it’s important to carefully plan your visit, especially in mid-June when the summer tourist season is in full swing. Here’s what you can expect in terms of crowds and options for a less crowded experience:
Crowds at Shows:
Branson is known for its live entertainment, and while the shows are typically popular, the level of crowding can vary. During peak summer months, the theaters can be busier, but many venues offer larger seating capacities that allow for social distancing. It’s best to call ahead and ask if the theater is limiting capacity or offering private seating for those who need more space. Also, consider visiting shows during off-peak hours, such as weekday afternoons, when crowds tend to be smaller.
Shopping and Attractions:
Branson has a variety of shopping malls, outlets, and tourist attractions that may be more crowded during weekends or peak vacation times. However, many of the shopping centers in Branson are quite spacious, which can make it easier to maintain distance. If your wife needs to avoid crowded areas, try visiting during the weekday mornings when the crowds are typically lighter. Some venues may also have less crowded hours early in the day, so it’s worth checking ahead.
Outdoor Options:
If you’re looking for fewer crowds, Branson offers several outdoor options like hiking trails, nature walks, and lakefront parks that can provide a more relaxed, less crowded experience. Consider visiting places like Table Rock State Park or the scenic Ozark Mountain region. These areas typically have fewer visitors, especially if you go early in the morning or later in the evening. Many of these outdoor areas are spacious and allow for better social distancing.
Private Tours and Smaller Venues:
Additional Tips:
While Branson can get crowded during peak summer months, there are still many opportunities to enjoy the area with fewer crowds. With a little advanced planning and some flexibility, you can have a safe and enjoyable visit without compromising your wife’s health.
