Pasadena old town to rose bowl

Best way to get to Rose Bowl. Uber? Bus lines? Drive your own car. I been reading either way you have to walk about 20 minutes or so.

Getting from Pasadena Old Town to the Rose Bowl can be done in a few ways, but each option has its considerations. The Rose Bowl is famous for traffic congestion during events, so planning ahead is important.

Driving Your Own Car:

If you choose to drive, there are parking lots around the Rose Bowl, but most require a shuttle or a short walk to the stadium. During large events, parking lots can fill up quickly and traffic can be heavy both before and after the event. Expect to walk 15–25 minutes from most parking areas to the Rose Bowl entrance.

Uber / Rideshare:

Rideshare is a convenient option, especially if you don’t want to deal with parking. The main drop-off/pick-up areas are usually a short walk from the stadium. However, during major events, Uber/Lyft can have surge pricing and waiting times can be long due to high demand. Walking from the designated drop-off zone can take 10–20 minutes.

Public Transportation:

Pasadena Transit and Metro buses serve the Rose Bowl area. During big events, special event shuttles run from Old Town Pasadena and other key points. These shuttles usually drop passengers close to the stadium entrance, minimizing walking.

  • Pasadena Shuttle: Runs from Old Town Pasadena to the Rose Bowl on event days. Usually a 10–15 minute ride and drops near a gate entrance.
  • Metro Bus: Certain lines (like Metro Gold Line connecting to shuttles) can be used, but may require transfers.

Recommendation:

  • For convenience and minimal walking: use the event shuttle from Old Town Pasadena if available.
  • If flexibility is important and you don’t mind walking: Uber or driving your own car works, but plan for traffic and extra walking time from parking/drop-off points.
  • Avoid peak arrival times if driving or using rideshare to reduce congestion stress.

In summary, shuttles from Old Town Pasadena provide the most stress-free experience with minimal walking, while rideshare or personal car are viable but require patience and willingness to walk from the drop-off or parking area.
