Hotel suggestion in hongkong
Hello,
We are travelling with 2 kids - 11 & 6 yr old for a week from 28th sep to 5th Oct.
First two days we booked Venetian Macau.
Now we are looking for rest 5 days stay. We plan to go to Disneyland.
Please suggest what else to see and do in hongkong & suggest hotels near to metro stations and near to market area.
For a family visiting Hong Kong with children aged 11 and 6, there are several convenient areas to stay that are close to metro stations (MTR) and near vibrant markets. Staying near the MTR will make it easy to reach Disneyland and other attractions, while being close to markets adds the option for street food, local snacks, and cultural exploration.
Recommended neighborhoods and hotels:
- Tsim Sha Tsui: A central area with easy access to the Star Ferry, shopping, and museums. Hotels near Tsim Sha Tsui MTR include:
- Kowloon Shangri-La (family-friendly, close to MTR and markets)
- Holiday Inn Golden Mile
- InterContinental Hong Kong (more upscale)
- Mong Kok: Famous for street markets such as Ladies’ Market and Sneakers Street, with many dining options. Hotels near Mong Kok MTR include:
- Royal Plaza Hotel
- Metropark Hotel Mong Kok
- Causeway Bay: Vibrant shopping district with lots of restaurants, suitable for families. Hotels near Causeway Bay MTR include:
- The Park Lane Hong Kong
- East Hong Kong
Top activities and attractions for families besides Disneyland:
- Victoria Peak – take the Peak Tram for panoramic city views.
- Ocean Park – combines marine life exhibits with amusement rides.
- Hong Kong Science Museum and Hong Kong Space Museum – interactive exhibits ideal for children.
- Star Ferry – a short ride across Victoria Harbour, fun for kids and offers great city views.
- Temple Street Night Market – browse local stalls, snacks, and souvenirs.
- Lantau Island – visit the Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery; accessible by cable car.
Practical tips:
- Use the Octopus Card for convenient travel on MTR, buses, and ferries.
- Plan Disneyland and Ocean Park on separate days to avoid long fatigue for the kids.
- Book hotels with family rooms or connecting rooms for comfort.
With this approach, you can balance sightseeing, shopping, and easy transportation while keeping the children engaged and happy.
