I have a 5-hour connection in ATL coming up, from UK in business class (Virgin), transferring to a US internal flight to final destination. Looks like I can only access the Delta lounge for three hours before departure (which seems mean). Any suggestions where to go for the first two hours and how to spend my time? And importantly which Delta Lounge(s) will I have access to and which is the best one to head for? Thank you!
With a 5-hour layover at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), you have plenty of time to relax and explore the airport’s facilities. Since you’re flying business class with Virgin Atlantic, you'll be able to access some great lounges, but you’ll need to plan your time wisely to make the most of your transfer. Here’s how to make the most of those 5 hours:
### Lounge Access and Recommendations:
As a business class passenger with Virgin Atlantic, you will have access to Delta Sky Club lounges, but the access is limited to 3 hours before your flight departs. Here’s what you need to know:
If you plan to access the lounge for only three hours, you can head to the Sky Club nearest to your gate and enjoy the complimentary food and beverages while resting or catching up on work. Keep in mind that the lounge amenities are typically only available for business class passengers, so be sure to have your boarding pass ready.
### What to do for the first two hours:
Since you have two hours before you can enter the lounge, here are some suggestions on how to spend that time:
### Best Lounge to Head For:
Since you’ll be arriving in business class and only have access for 3 hours, I would recommend heading to the Delta Sky Club at Concourse A. This lounge is spacious, offers a good selection of food and drinks, and is one of the best options for a comfortable layover experience. If your connecting flight departs from a different concourse, however, you may want to opt for the lounge that is closest to your gate to avoid additional walking or stress.
### Other Options for Your Time at ATL:
If you’re not into lounge sitting for the entire layover, ATL also offers a Minute Suites service, where you can rent a private suite to relax, nap, or freshen up. These are located in both Concourse B and Concourse T. It’s a great option if you need some quiet time and privacy, especially during a long layover.
While your connection time may feel long, ATL offers many amenities to keep you entertained and relaxed. Enjoy your time at ATL, and safe travels!
