Where to stay in New Smyrna Beach area?
Hello from Scotland. We are coming over next summer to visit our Son who has just enrolled at Stetson University. Planning to spend a week in NSB & will be aiming for a beachside apartment with a pool. Are there any particular areas of the town that people would recommend in terms of proximity to a nice beach, bars & restaurants? Thank you.
Welcome to Florida! New Smyrna Beach (NSB) is a fantastic destination, offering beautiful beaches, charming local shops, and a relaxed atmosphere. Since you’re looking for a beachside apartment with a pool, there are a few areas within NSB that are ideal for your stay, offering proximity to the beach, as well as bars and restaurants. Here are the top areas to consider for your visit:
- Flagler Avenue: This is one of the most popular and lively areas in New Smyrna Beach. Flagler Avenue is a short walk from the beach and is lined with shops, bars, restaurants, and art galleries. Staying near Flagler Avenue will give you easy access to the beach, and you’ll be close to several dining options, including casual eateries, seafood restaurants, and beachside bars. It's a perfect location if you want a vibrant and walkable area with plenty of things to do.
- South Atlantic Avenue: Running parallel to the beach, South Atlantic Avenue offers a variety of beachfront accommodations. This area is quieter compared to Flagler Avenue but still close to the beach and only a short drive from restaurants and shops. If you're looking for a more peaceful stay with easy beach access, this could be a great choice. Many of the beachside apartments and condos here come with pools, and you'll be just steps away from the sand.
- Seaside or Sea Woods Area: If you’re looking for a slightly more secluded, residential area with a relaxed vibe, Seaside and Sea Woods might be perfect for you. These neighborhoods are a bit further from the hustle and bustle of Flagler Avenue but still offer proximity to the beach, nature trails, and quiet spots to relax. There are some condo rentals and vacation homes in this area with pools, and you'll still be within a short drive to restaurants and shops. It’s a great option for a quieter, family-friendly stay.
- Coronado Beach: Located on the southern tip of New Smyrna Beach, Coronado Beach is a less busy, peaceful area. This beach is perfect for those who want to avoid large crowds while still being close to the water. While it's a bit further from the main town center, it’s a great spot for a relaxing stay, and you’ll find a few beachside rental options with pools. The restaurants and bars in this area are more low-key but still enjoyable.
All of these areas offer different vibes, from lively to laid-back, but they all provide great access to the beach. Flagler Avenue is the best choice if you want to be in the heart of the action, while areas like South Atlantic Avenue and Sea Woods offer a quieter, more relaxed experience. Wherever you choose, you’ll have easy access to beautiful beaches, great restaurants, and a welcoming atmosphere to enjoy during your stay in New Smyrna Beach!
