Looking for clean, nicely decorated, and spacious beachfront condo (walk right out onto the sand). We will have an older adult with us, so preferably not too many stairs to get over the dunes. A large patio with seating for 4 and an ocean view is desired. Beach set up (2 chairs & 1 umbrella) included with the rental. Some palm trees around the property for a tropical feel would be nice. Would prefer a condo where the beach isn’t congested with rows upon rows of umbrellas. Would like a beachfront pool. Coming in September. I’m considering Breakers FWB. Any advice on choosing a complex is appreciated. Thank you.
When looking for a beachfront condo on Okaloosa Island, especially for a relaxing, convenient stay with an older adult, it’s great to prioritize accessibility, a good ocean view, and a peaceful environment. Based on your preferences, here are some suggestions to help you choose the best condominium complex for your stay in September:
1. Breakers FWB is indeed a solid option to consider. The condos here are spacious and typically well-maintained, with many offering direct beach access. The property is relatively low-rise, which means fewer stairs to navigate for an older adult, and it features a beachfront pool, which is a great perk. Additionally, Breakers FWB often provides beach setups (chairs and umbrellas) included with the rental. The beachfront is usually not as congested as some of the more tourist-heavy areas, giving you that desired tranquil feel with fewer rows of umbrellas.
2. Gulf Dunes is another excellent option for a beachfront condo in Fort Walton Beach. It is known for its well-maintained property and spacious units, many of which offer beautiful oceanfront views with large patios or balconies. Gulf Dunes provides easy beach access with no stairs to climb over dunes. The complex is also quieter, with fewer units and less crowding on the beach. The pool area is beachfront, and the overall vibe is laid-back, making it a good fit for your needs.
3. Waters Edge Condominiums offers a similar vibe to Gulf Dunes, with units right on the beach and stunning views of the Gulf. The property has a beachfront pool, and the condos are spacious and clean. Some units have a more tropical feel, with palm trees surrounding the complex. The beach is generally not too crowded, and the unit sizes are ideal for larger groups or those looking for additional space. They also include beach service with umbrellas and chairs for guests, which adds to the convenience.
4. Azure Condominiums is a great family-friendly condo complex on Okaloosa Island. While it is a bit larger, it offers modern, spacious units and a beautiful beachfront pool. The units come with large balconies and ocean views, which might be exactly what you're looking for. Azure also offers beach service (chairs and umbrellas), and the beach is usually less crowded compared to more commercial areas. While there may be a few more stairs depending on the unit, it generally provides good accessibility to the beach.
In summary, Breakers FWB is a strong contender, but depending on the exact unit and the amenities you're looking for, any of these complexes could provide a relaxing, spacious, and convenient beach vacation. Be sure to check reviews and possibly contact the property management to ensure the unit meets your specific needs, particularly in terms of accessibility and beach setup.
