I visited the Colony pre-covid and thought it was great:
quirky, great location, loved the beach club.
I made reservations in early December (double rooms connected by bathroom) for myself and adult daughter.
The recent reviews are discouraging. I am thinking of changing to Cranes or elsewhere.
Please tell me the Colony is still a good option!

The Colony in Delray Beach has historically been a favorite for travelers who enjoy a quirky, boutique-style experience and easy access to the beach. Pre-COVID, it was praised for its charm, beach club access, and central location. However, like many properties, it appears that guest experiences have become more mixed in recent years, likely influenced by staffing, renovations, and post-pandemic operational changes.
Here’s a detailed perspective on the current situation and what to consider:
Alternative options: If you are worried about inconsistency, Cranes Beach House or other boutique properties along Delray Beach could be considered. They generally have strong reviews for cleanliness, service, and beach access, though they may be slightly more expensive.
Ultimately, The Colony can still be a good choice if you value its location, beach club access, and boutique charm. If peace of mind and consistently high service is your priority, considering a highly rated alternative might be worth it, especially for a short trip.
