Family reunion venue & accommodations

Hi, I’m planning a family reunion for a group of 50 to 60 people on a budget. We’re looking at options in / near Milton, FL. Would anyone recommend his splash RV resort? Most of us will be staying in cabins not in an RV. Less expensive are the cabins at Adventures Unlimited. In terms of budget, we’re looking for clean, well-stocked accommodations (with kitchen) for 4 people for less than $180 / night. Any other suggestions around that area? Thanks

Planning a family reunion for 50 to 60 people near Milton, FL, requires balancing budget, accommodations, and amenities. Since most of your group will stay in cabins rather than RVs, it's important to choose a venue that offers clean, well-stocked cabins with kitchens for meal prep, ideally within your $180/night per 4-person budget.

His Splash RV Resort is a popular option in the area. While it primarily caters to RV travelers, it does offer cabins. The property is generally well-maintained and family-friendly, with amenities like a pool, playground, and recreational areas. However, availability and size of the cabins may be limited for larger groups, and they may book up quickly during peak seasons.

Adventures Unlimited is another option, with less expensive cabins that still provide the basics for a comfortable stay. The cabins usually include kitchenettes or full kitchens, allowing families to prepare meals and save on dining costs. The property is set in a natural environment, which can be appealing for families seeking outdoor activities.

  • His Splash RV Resort – Pros: family-friendly amenities (pool, playground), well-maintained cabins, suitable for casual group gatherings. Cons: cabin availability may be limited, more RV-focused, possibly slightly higher cost.
  • Adventures Unlimited – Pros: more affordable cabins with kitchens, quiet natural setting, suitable for budget-conscious families. Cons: fewer amenities than a full resort, may require extra planning for group activities.

Other accommodation options in or near Milton to consider for a budget-friendly family reunion:

  • Local vacation rental homes – Large houses or multiple smaller homes available through platforms like Airbnb or Vrbo. These often include full kitchens, multiple bedrooms, and living spaces to accommodate families while keeping costs within budget.
  • Campgrounds with cabin rentals – Nearby state parks or private campgrounds sometimes offer cabins with kitchens, picnic areas, and outdoor recreational opportunities.
  • Motels or Inns with suites – Some local inns or extended-stay hotels may provide suite-style rooms with kitchenettes, allowing small family units to stay comfortably within budget.

For a group of your size, it may also be worth combining cabins at one central location with vacation rental homes nearby, to keep everyone together while respecting budget constraints. Booking early is highly recommended, especially if your reunion falls during a peak holiday or summer season.

In summary, His Splash RV Resort offers a more amenity-rich experience but may be costlier, while Adventures Unlimited is budget-friendly with basic but functional accommodations. Exploring local vacation rentals or combining multiple cabin options may provide the best balance of cost, comfort, and space for your family reunion.
