An extra day or two on WPB

I have to attend an all day conference in WPB on a Thursday. Thinking of staying Friday and most of Saturday to relax. Coming from NYC. Middle age single guy looking to relax. Appreciate any suggestions.

For a relaxing extra day or two in West Palm Beach after your conference, you’ll find the city offers a good mix of low-key activities, outdoor spots, and dining options without needing to rush. Since you’re looking to unwind, focusing on beach access, casual walking areas, and nice restaurants will be ideal.

Here are some suggestions for your stay:

  • Beach relaxation: Take some time at Palm Beach or Lake Worth Beach. Palm Beach is a short drive across the bridge and offers a quieter, upscale beach experience. You can stroll along the sand, relax under an umbrella, or just people-watch.
  • Outdoor strolls and parks: Check out the West Palm Beach Waterfront or the Clematis Street area for a scenic walk. The area has waterfront benches, public art, and a peaceful atmosphere in the morning or early evening.
  • Dining and casual drinks: For lunch or dinner, you could explore the CityPlace (now called Rosemary Square) or the surrounding neighborhoods. There are plenty of restaurants and bars, from casual to upscale, perfect for a solo traveler looking to enjoy good food and a drink without crowds.

If you want to mix in some light sightseeing or cultural stops:

  • Norton Museum of Art: A manageable visit for a couple of hours, offering interesting collections without feeling overwhelming.
  • Mounts Botanical Garden: Quiet, peaceful, and perfect for strolling and relaxing among Florida native plants and themed gardens.
  • Flagler Museum: If you enjoy historical architecture, a visit to the former Henry Flagler mansion provides insight into the Gilded Age in Palm Beach.

Evening options can be low-key:

  • Enjoy a casual dinner and a cocktail at one of the rooftop bars in Rosemary Square.
  • Consider a sunset walk along the Lake Worth Pier or the Palm Beach shoreline.

For a solo traveler, a combination of beach time, light cultural stops, and relaxed dining will make your extra day or two in West Palm Beach both rejuvenating and enjoyable.
