How should Wuhan residents take care of their children during summer vacation? 10 worry-free places to visit

Preface

After a month of wandering, July is finally here. It is a month that brings both joy and sorrow. Parents have to go to work and cute kids have to take a vacation. What should we do? Just thinking about two months of vacation life is terrifying.

But those who follow me are in luck. There are countless great places for taking children that I can't find. Whether you want to experience it with your children, spend a romantic time together, or earn serious money, there's always a place where you can spend this long vacation peacefully. Happy holiday...

Technology & Science Tour

Aviation Dreams

The dream of space travel seems to be a sentiment for many boys. Childish words keep coming out of their mouths, diaries, and essays: My ideal is to be an astronaut; my ideal is to be a scientist... As the pace of growing up gets faster and faster, the dreams seem to change more and more. This holiday, we will get closer to the "Interstellar Immigration" plan, explore the mysteries of aviation, and make our baby's aviation dream come true!

The Zishan Lake Aerospace Science and Technology Museum is located in the Heshengqiao Financial Town of Xianning. It was officially opened on January 28, 2018. It is currently the largest comprehensive science and technology museum in my country with aerospace technology as its theme, integrating popular science teaching, interactive experience, education and training, etc. The exhibition hall area is about 6,000 square meters.

The exhibition hall makes extensive use of multimedia, VR, 3D, aerospace simulation and other technological means, uses storylines to inject into courses, simulates scenarios, and has a high content of scientific and technological knowledge, just to give children the most realistic experience; the course tasks are challenged into games, and inquiry-based learning is carried out in groups, which increases the interactivity of learning and truly combines learning with interest.

Such an experience will not only allow the kids to understand the brilliant achievements made by my country's aerospace industry, but also experience the magic and charm of aerospace technology, and make them deeply feel the shock of my country's aerospace technology. What are you waiting for? Let your dreams take off!

Tips:

Suitable for tourists aged 3-12 and their parents. Children aged 6 and above can participate independently.

Science Laboratory

Have you ever wondered what's the best gift for your child? Clothes, desserts, toys, or something more? Perhaps you should cultivate their hands-on and thinking abilities. It's time to let your child put aside their heavy academic workload and unleash their creativity for a cool science explosion!

Blooming milk, toothpaste shaped like an elephant, and a dry ice moon... You thought these were only seen in movies, but it seems you don't know me. "Amazing Magical Science Show" SHOW TIME~

This is a magical world where you can directly experience the amazing collision of ice and fire. It is a "scientific feast" carefully crafted for children in a simple and easy-to-learn way. My goal is to cultivate a scientific attitude in babies that respects facts and is good at questioning, stimulate their interest in learning, and form innovative thinking. I also want them to learn to explore the interesting little phenomena around them, learn happily in natural science experiments, love life, and explore the wonderful world outside!

Tips:

*All experiments have been repeatedly performed by professionals to ensure the safety of children's experiments, and each child is equipped with laboratory work clothes for safety protection!

Hands-on & Independent Tour

Log house builder

The two-day, one-night independent camp is the perfect time to nurture your little ones, allowing them to conceive and build models in the forest, spend time together with singing and laughing, and rediscover their original happy childhood memories; allowing them to learn to use their hands to dream and build their own happy little "house"!

This is a dream-making journey, a celebration of collective creativity, and a journey that allows children to experience the complete hands-on experience of creating a forest cabin. Through meaningful challenges, we create a space for independent development and growth, allowing children to hone their hands-on and creative abilities within a team. Carefully measure the length of each board to determine the appropriate material; different lengths vary depending on the area, requiring children to adjust them themselves. Each detail must be carefully protected, and children must work together to build their home!

There is no need to worry about whether your child can build a wooden house. Professional construction teachers are there to protect you. Starting from basic cognition, step by step, with systematic planning, they will gradually improve your child's attention, observation, and creative execution.

Tips:

Life safety protection:

The activity area is equipped with a 5:1 standard instructor to prevent children from acting on their own.

Course safety guarantee:

hardware:

Starting with building materials, use materials that are easy for children to carry and operate. Divide the activity area into sections to allow everyone to carry and move things in an orderly manner, reducing the risk of collisions.

software:

Civil engineering experts and independent carpentry studios provide guidance throughout the installation process, keeping the height of the cabin within a reasonable range. They also introduce the latest prefabricated methods to reduce safety hazards associated with the use of nails and hammers, thereby improving the overall quality of the cabin.

equipment:

All children are equipped with comprehensive personal gear including helmets, goggles, cut-resistant gloves, work clothes, etc. In addition to setting up special courses to teach the correct operation of tools, dedicated personnel are deployed in the use area to provide guidance and supervision.

Treehouse Summer Camp

If you feel that two days of independent camping is not enough to train your baby's ability, it doesn't matter, maybe this one is suitable for you~

Do you think this is just a treehouse? No, it's a treehouse castle brimming with dreams. Here, we'll combine forest exploration, Lu Ban culture, and mind mapping to allow children to gain a deep understanding of nature over five days and four nights. They'll experience the wonders of natural materials, experience the craftsmanship of coexisting with nature, and forge a connection between us and nature. This deep connection will nourish children's souls throughout their lives.

Hubei Yingcheng National Mining Park Camp is located in Yingcheng City in central Hubei Province. It is the only hot spring nature education camp in the country. We will conduct the camp in the Mining Park Hot Spring Resort, and our tree house is built in a pine forest by the lake, overlooking the lake, with a breeze on your face. The comfortable accommodation environment also gives children the opportunity to get close to nature.

This holiday season, let’s become our own dream engineers.

Tips:

Life safety protection:

1. The course is implemented in a closed camp with good safety facilities.

2. Insurance: Purchase full professional insurance for each child.

3. The camp is equipped with one medical staff and first aid kit.

4. The teacher-student ratio is 1:5. Children are accommodated in standard rooms with private bathrooms and air conditioning. Teachers and children live in the same area and can handle emergencies at any time.

5. Classes are held within a cordoned area to prevent children from wandering around without permission. After each class, a life teacher will conduct a simple physical examination of each child and conduct a ward round after each child goes to bed to ensure safety.

Course safety guarantee:

hardware:

Starting with the construction materials, we used materials that are easy for children to carry and operate. We also divided the activity area into sections, such as the raw material processing area, the module production area, and the tree house construction area, to improve the site's 5S level, allowing everyone to carry and move things in an orderly manner, reducing the risk of collisions.

software:

1. Keep the height of the tree house within a reasonable range. There is no danger of working at height. All children who are active on the platform must wear safety belts and be connected to a secure protection point.

Water and the Front

Summer is the season for playing in water. Even adults cannot escape this rule, let alone children. This summer, let your children embrace the water area, have a hearty laugh, and let them shout out the slogan: "Baby, water and water compete."

You can see canoeing in lakes, on the sea, and in leagues at prestigious universities like Oxford and Cambridge. It’s wonderful to think about people paddling to see the world from the water, exercise their bodies, strengthen their will, and improve their teamwork.

Today, this highly experiential sport has become a popular outdoor water sport in China. Since 2015, countless children have enjoyed it. Besides having fun, they also learn professional outdoor survival knowledge and kayaking techniques. These fun games on the water are both fun and competitive. Imagine children kayaking, slacklining, and tree climbing—what a joyful holiday it must be.

Humanities & Exploration

What kind of city is Wuhan? Ten years after leaving Wuhan, this is the question I'm asked most often. My answer is usually two words: market town. Wuhan is a city of market town.

When I was a child, Wuhan was still the old Wuhan. I was too young to understand or remember it. Now, I have grown up, and I am still me, but Wuhan is no longer what I remember.

Once the three great cities of Hankou, Hanyang, and Wuchang, Wuhan has now been divided into ever-wider areas. Its historical traces were once vivid, but now few people look back. But regardless of the changes, Wuhan remains a place I cherish.

Red blot

Uprising Gate - Museum of the Revolution of 1911 - Red Building - Snake Hill. If you don’t know the history of Wuhan, these names may not seem special. But after completing this day’s itinerary, you will find that places with red traces always inspire awe.

Uprising Gate

Originally the Zhonghe Gate of the ancient city of Wuchang, it was built during the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty (1368 AD), giving it a history of over 700 years. On October 10, 1911, the Hubei New Army Engineering Battalion revolted and quickly seized control of Zhonghe Gate. The Nanhu Horse Artillery Battalion was able to enter the city through this gate and bombard the Huguang Governor's Mansion from the city walls, marking a new chapter in modern Chinese history.

Xinhai Revolution Museum

The Museum of the Revolution of 1911 is a special museum built by the Wuhan Municipal Government of Hubei Province to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Wuchang Uprising of the 1911 Revolution. It is located on the south side of the Shouyi Square in Yuemachang, Wuchang District, Wuhan City, facing Pengliuyang Road to the north, Zhang Zhidong Road to the south, Chushan Street to the east, and Tiyu Street to the west. It is the core building of the Shouyi Cultural District, sharing the same axis with the former site of the Wuchang Uprising Military Government (Red Building), the bronze statue of Sun Yat-sen, the monument to Huang Xing's parade platform, and the Martyrs' Shrine Archway.

Red Mansion

The Wuchang Uprising Memorial Hall of the 1911 Revolution is located at the northern end of the Yuemachang on the southern foot of Snake Mountain in Wuchang, Wuhan City, Hubei Province. The main building of the memorial hall is a two-story red building, so it is also called the "Red Building". It is a national first-class museum and houses a large number of cultural relics, literature and photographic materials.

Snake Mountain:

During the Three Kingdoms period, Snake Mountain was called Jiangxia Mountain, also known as Zizhu Ridge. During the Northern Wei Dynasty, it was called Huanghe Mountain, during the Song Dynasty, it was called Shicheng Mountain, during the Yuan Dynasty, it was called Changshou Mountain, and during the Ming Dynasty, it was known as Jinhua Mountain and Lingshan Mountain.

The mountain is named Snake Mountain because of the line "winding like a crouching snake..." in "Records of Entering Sichuan" by Lu You, a poet of the Southern Song Dynasty. Therefore, many people in later generations called it Snake Mountain. In the "Jiangxia County Chronicles" during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the mountain was already named Snake Mountain.

Chu style and ancient charm

Wuhan has three towns. After Wuchang, let's talk about Hanyang (don't ask me why Hankou is missing; I'll write a special about it later). This is a cultural wonderland where "gentlemen from all over the world gather," this is a major trading and tourism town where "a diverse population of merchants and affluent people abound," this is a place that etched the history of China's modern industrial development, "opening up a new era unprecedented in East Asia." This is the profound Hanyang.

Hanyang has long been overlooked, yet its significance cannot be overlooked. "Clear rivers reveal the trees of Hanyang, while fragrant grass drapes the Parrot Island." It boasts a historical treasure, the Hanyang-made Qintai, a touching story of "a mountain stream meeting a soulmate," the Wuhan Qintai Grand Theater, one of the nation's largest, most comprehensive, and highest-end cultural venues, and the Dayu Mythology Garden, a landscape garden themed around the sculpture of the mythical Yu the Great. Yet, even with all this, Hanyang remains a somewhat underwhelming place. I believe it's time to invest some time in understanding it.

Singing, learning, and amusing

"Rhetoric, learning, amusing, and singing—guankoukuaiban (quick talk)—setting poems—taiping lyrics—yuziban (beating the clappers)—my favorite part of the Spring Festival Gala every year is crosstalk. It manages to convey simple truths in such a funny way that leaves a lasting impression after a hearty laugh. It's a traditional Chinese culture and a hope for the future!"

Therefore, letting babies experience crosstalk is also to train their speaking ability and reaction ability, cultivate their self-confidence from an early age, and let them understand that it is right to dare to express their ideas in front of others. Only by speaking out can they be more likely to be discovered.

I hope that children will want to listen to crosstalk as much as they want to go to the cinema to watch a movie. They can go to a crosstalk show whenever they want and feel the intuitive charm it brings. Let them get close to Wuhan's local performances from an early age, which are authentic and traditional, and have a more ancient charm, so that they can learn more about Wuhan!

Route highlights:

[Local Crosstalk] Wuhan's 12-year-old crosstalk club: A look inside the Han-style crosstalk

[Old and authentic] Old stage, old actors, original flavor, inheriting classics, suitable for all ages

[Unique Experience] Learn how to sing, perform, and wear costumes. Even laymen can understand the secrets of crosstalk.

【Elegant environment】Workers' Cultural Palace theater, wooden tables and chairs, antique style, Chu style

Night Detective

What do you do with your kids at night? Tell stories, watch movies, study, or sleep? As night falls, a gentle breeze picks up by the lake. A spider begins to weave its web on a streetlight in the meadow. Frogs emerge from the lake, and in the bushes, insects start their concert. Oh, the vibrant summer has arrived!

This evening, let your little ones become little night detectives and explore the secrets of summer nights together! Set off at dusk for a magical nighttime experience at the park! Nature guides will lead you through the mysteries of darkness and the wonders of life! Experience a true "natural world" at the park, observing unique plants, exploring the croaking of frogs, and spotting cicadas taking flight!

Observation is their most fundamental and effective way to understand the world. Every wonderful story begins with a careful observation. Night games help children overcome their fear of the dark and become brave guardians of nature!

Tips:

  1. Mosquitoes become more numerous in summer, so you need to wear long sleeves and long pants, and bring your own mosquito repellent and anti-itch cream; you need to wear sports shoes, preferably rain boots or thick hiking shoes, and you are not allowed to wear sandals or slippers.

  2. If you have a strong flashlight or headlamp, you can use your own; if not, we will prepare one for you.

  3. You can bring your own magnifying glass and drinking water.

  4. As there are certain risks at night, please follow the staff's arrangements, and do not leave the team without permission during the team's march!

Conclusion

Not all education is learned in school. Step out of books and get closer to life, give your children a different childhood, and let them win at the starting line from an early age!
