Almost all ginkgo trees in the world originate from Tianmu Mountain in Lin'an, Zhejiang. Tianmu Mountain, known as "the big tree with a canopy famous throughout the nine states", has ancient geology, unique landforms and complex topography. During the glacial period, it became a "refuge" for many animals and plants, ginkgo being one of them.

Zhinan Village is located at the foot of Tianmu Mountain in the east of Lin'an and on the banks of Nanshaoxi River at the source of Taihu Lake. There are nearly 300 ancient ginkgo trees over 200 years old here. In another week, the paths will be covered with golden ginkgo trees.
Zhinan Village, hailed by outdoor enthusiasts as one of East China's most beautiful ancient villages, boasts eight ancient maple trees ranging in age from 800 to 1,000 years old. In autumn, the interplay of red and yellow creates a truly beautiful autumn fairytale.
📍Fuyang District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province
At the junction of Fuyang, Lin'an and Tonglu, every November, thousands of ginkgo trees are spread across the countryside within a radius of several kilometers, and the air is filled with pastoral poetry. This is Yangjia Village, the hometown of ginkgo in Zhejiang.
The sunlight shines through the golden leaves, illuminating the village's mist and smoke, as if time has slowed down.

Changxing, Huzhou, is known as the "Hometown of Ginkgo." Japanese and European ginkgo trees all originated in Changxing, giving Jiangnan ginkgo a unique place.
The Ginkgo Corridor is located in Badu Village, Xiaopu District, Changxing County. The autumn of Changxing is hidden in this small village in the mountains. Whenever the autumn wind blows or the autumn rain passes, the green ginkgo leaves are quietly dyed with gold.
Strong and upright ginkgo trees stand on both sides of the road, forming a long golden corridor. The 12.5-kilometer corridor is home to 30,000 ginkgo trees, more than 2,700 of which are over 100 years old.

📍Tuole Village, Panzhou County, Guizhou Province
This is Tuole, the hometown of ancient ginkgo trees in the world. There are thousands of ancient ginkgo trees, the youngest of which is over 300 years old and the oldest is over 500 years old. Experts believe that such a concentrated and continuous ancient ginkgo village that is integrated with the village is very rare in the world.
In autumn, ginkgo tree branches extend in all directions from paths, ridges, under house foundations, and stone steps, supporting the entire Tuole Village on the roots of the trees. The layers of green leaves in summer have all turned golden yellow.
Fallen leaves covered the stone paths and black-tiled houses. Even the clear stream and stone bridge in the village were decorated with gold by the fan-shaped ginkgo leaves.
📍Jiangdong Village, Gudong Town, Tengchong, Yunnan
Tengchong's Ginkgo Village is known as the "No. 1 Ginkgo Kingdom in the World". The ginkgo trees here are like the village in the forest and the trees in the homes. Every household is full of ginkgo trees, and the whole village looks like an oil painting in autumn.
There are more than 30,000 ancient ginkgo trees here, more than 50 of which are over 500 years old, with an annual output of more than 100,000 kilograms of ginkgo fruits. Among the more than 2,000 ginkgo trees, the oldest ones are more than 1,680 years old, forming a unique scene in Nanxiong - the ancient ginkgo community.
Pingtian, known in southern Guangdong as the "Ginkgo Town," boasts over 5,000 ancient ginkgo trees over a century old. Every autumn, Pingtian Town's Aobei, Jingdong, Jiangtang, Wangtang, and Junyingzhai districts are bathed in a vibrant golden aura.

Admire ginkgo trees on the shores of Taihu Lake
📍Wuzhong District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province
Dongshan, also known as Dongting East Mountain, is a peninsula on the eastern slope of Taihu Lake, 37 kilometers from Suzhou city. It is surrounded by lakes on three sides and connected to the land on one side. It is also the birthplace of Biluochun tea.
Dongshan in autumn is a world of ginkgo trees, which can be seen on the walls, on tiled houses, and beside streams... This time, we chose to go there during the peak autumn season. Mid-November to early December every year is the best time to view the ginkgo trees in Dongshan.
The golden ginkgo leaves are like strings of golden wind chimes hanging on the treetops, rustling and swaying gracefully.

Mount Taihua, where Jiufeng Zen Temple is located, has a summit of 548 meters, making it the second highest peak in southern Jiangsu. It is located at the junction of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces, and is a famous bamboo sea and Buddhist holy place.
The two ginkgo trees in Jiufeng Temple on the top of Taihua Mountain are both over a thousand years old. According to legend, they were planted by Sun Quan's mother herself. They are rare thousand-year-old trees in Wuxi.
Hike along the Sanzhou Ancient Trail and visit the Jiufeng Ancient Temple to admire the ginkgo trees. The ginkgo trees on the mountain and in the village dance in the breeze. You can also pass through the Sanzhou Ancient Village, Taihua Ancient Town... ginkgo trees, bamboo forests, ancient villages... and enjoy the essence of autumn scenery all at once.
