Indonesia is a land of thousands of islands! How to choose an island? Read this article!

Preface

I'm Yifei, the product manager for China-TravelNote's "South Asia & Islands" section. I'm a scuba diver, island travel enthusiast, and a frequent backpacker throughout Southeast Asia. Today, I'd like to share a practical guide to island selection.

As a passionate ocean traveler,
I've visited islands all over the world,
but there's only one island country
I've visited no fewer than 20 times:
this land of 17,508 islands.

Let me offer a few heartfelt words: How many times do the average person travel abroad in their lifetime? With our busy lives, it's probably only in the single digits. And
how many times can we even visit the same country? Who doesn't want to visit a different country/continent next time? So when it comes to traveling abroad, "choice is more important than effort". If you choose the wrong destination, no matter how hard you try and make a travel guide, it will be of no use...

In Indonesia in May, the rainy season has just passed.
The temperature in Indonesia at this time of year
is comfortable and pleasant. It is the best time to explore this mysterious land.
As a country of thousands of islands,
Indonesia is a mysterious kaleidoscope .
Each island contains unique treasures.
Each island attracts players with different attributes. There

is no absolutely good place,
only a place that suits you.
So today's article will make it clear
"Ten Thousand Islands Indonesia | How to Choose an Island".

Java Island for Humanity Lovers
[Yogyakarta]

I think this is still a niche travel destination in Indonesia
, a place that will fascinate lovers of ancient sites.
The Borobudur stupa awakens in the morning mist, and
its 72 bell towers conceal a thousand years of Buddhist wisdom.
The Hindu temples of Prambanan are exquisitely carved

, and the place becomes even more mysterious at sunset.
Two World Heritage sites
are located in the small city of Yogyakarta,
forming the center of ancient civilization on the Indonesian island of Java.

Java Island for Photography Enthusiasts
[Bromos & Ijen Volcano]

Yizhen Volcano

Located in East Java,
a two-hour late-night hike
explores the crater's blue fire wonders. Miners carry sulfur blocks through
the sulfurous fumes of the volcanic lake , creating a scene reminiscent of a sci-fi film. Remember to wear a gas mask to capture this wilderness spectacle of "hell and heaven."

Mount Bromo

Indonesia
has become a popular destination in recent years and has gained a very high reputation in China. Even though it
was not so popular in the past few years ,
it has already made the cover of "Lonely Planet". Climb to the top

of the observation deck in the early morning and watch the morning light part the clouds
and smoke rising from the crater like the breath of a giant dragon.
Under your feet is a lunar ash plain.
The volcanoes in the distance are looming and
the shock is soul-stirring.
