Meet at the designated location of China-TravelNote at 7:00 am

We got on the bus and set off on time at 7:15. Led by the team leader, the team members introduced themselves to each other, the team leader performed, and the group interacted with each other. There was laughter and joy all the way, and before we knew it, we were approaching our destination.

Around 10:00 AM, we arrived at the Liuhe Pagoda parking lot and set off in formation, heading into the secluded valley and into the mountains! We hiked from Hupao Mountain past Maer Mountain and climbed to the top of Guiren Peak, where we had lunch.

After lunch, we set off again at 1:00 PM, following the refreshing scent of osmanthus flowers to Manjuelong. In the golden autumn of October, the osmanthus flowers in Manjuelong are in full bloom, filling the mountains with fragrance and petals falling like rain!

Around 3:00 PM, we arrived at the Nangao Peak area, one of the two peaks piercing the clouds, one of the "Ten Scenic Spots of West Lake." Panoramic views offered a breathtaking view of the vast Qiantang River and the mirror-like West Lake. We took a group photo here and continued on to Santai Pavilion. We boarded the return bus around 5:00 PM and arrived back in downtown Shanghai around 7:30 PM. With much to say, we all shared a tearful farewell.

October 22-27, 2024 is the final date for this event. 80-90% of the osmanthus flowers in Manjuelong Village will have fallen, so this part of the natural experience will be missing. Hiking and sightseeing near West Lake will be arranged as normal. Please report this if you mind.

Manjuelong, also known as Manlong, is located south of West Lake in Hangzhou, nestled between Nangao Peak and Baihe Peak. Yuanxingyuan was built in 939 AD, the fourth year of the Tianfu reign of the Later Jin Dynasty (1065 AD), and renamed Manjueyuan in 1065 AD. Manjue means "perfect enlightenment," and the area is named after the temple. Over 7,000 osmanthus trees, including golden osmanthus, silver osmanthus, red osmanthus, and four-season osmanthus, line the mountain paths along Manjuelong. In autumn, the osmanthus trees, with their vibrant blossoms, radiate a fragrance that wafts for miles, captivating the senses. When dew is heavy, the wind scatters the drops, creating a dense, rain-like pattern. Walking among the osmanthus trees, bathed in the fragrance, creates a unique experience, hence the name "Manlong Osmanthus Rain." In 1985, "Manlong Osmanthus Rain" was named one of the Ten New West Lake Scenic Spots.
