Hike through Lingyan Mountain and Baimajian, overlooking Gusu City (one-day hike)

Day 1 Shanghai → Lingyan Mountain → Baimajian → Shanghai

All day

In the morning, we met at the designated China-TravelNote location, signed in, and departed promptly at 8:00 AM. Along the way, we introduced ourselves to each other and helped the new members integrate quickly. Staff members played interactive games, creating a lively atmosphere.
Around 11:00 AM, we began our ascent of Lingyan Mountain, known for its "Splendour of Lingyan Mountain Surpasses the South of the Yangtze River" and "Lingyan Mountain Surpasses the Tiantai Mountain." Its summit, crowned by a forest of massive rocks, afforded distant views of Gusu City. We then headed towards Baimajian, climbing steps, weaving through the woods, cautiously traversing gravel paths, and climbing rocks with our bare hands. We had lunch in time, then continued our journey along the smaller trails. The journey to Baimajian Scenic Area takes approximately four hours. Once there, we gathered to pose for more poses and soothe our muscles from the uphill climb.
Around 4:30 PM, we were escorted by staff to the bus back to Shanghai, arriving at our departure point around 7:00 PM. Everyone, still feeling unsatisfied, shared a tearful farewell.

Note: You need to pay on site to enter the Longchi Scenic Area, about 10 yuan per person

Lingyan Mountain is located in Mudu, southwest of Suzhou, a water town in the Jiangnan region. It is named "Lingyan Mountain" because of the famous "Ganoderma Lucidum Stone" in front of the Lingyan Pagoda. The mountain is home to numerous unusual rocks. The jagged, craggy rocks and craggy rocks create lifelike images, resulting in a sense of imitation. There was a saying that there were "Twelve" or "Eighteen" unusual rocks. Lingyan Mountain was originally the site of the Guanwa Palace, the residence of King Fuchai of Wu during the Spring and Autumn Period, and was also the place where the Kingdom of Yue presented Xi Shi. Remaining relics and historical sites of the King of Wu include: the King of Wu's Well, the Dressing Table, the Flower Pond, the Moon Pond, the Xianglang Corridor, the Qintai, the Xishi Cave, the Zhiji Well, the Changshou Pavilion, and the Fangting Pavilion.
