China-TravelNote will specially arrange boating on Yuanyang Lake, the essence of Xiaoqikong. The lake water is emerald green and solemn. Our boat will shuttle through the water maze, giving you a feeling of being isolated from the world.

We stayed at the Libo County Hotel at night.

Day 3 Libo County → Zhaoxing Dong Village → Grain Rain Festival

All day

After breakfast, we set off for Zhaoxing Dong Village, which is known as the "Hometown of Drum Tower Culture and Art" and "One of the Six Photography Paradises". The Drum Tower is very lively, with rows of Dong villagers sitting inside singing and chatting. The alleys along the river are distant and quiet, and the ancient banyan trees in the village have been silently guarding their ancestors.

On the day of Grain Rain Festival, the whole village is filled with Dong ethnic customs after nightfall, including Dong ethnic singing, eating black rice, throwing You You, smearing faces and other activities. In the streets of the village, you can see Dong youths smearing each other's faces black. The darker the face is, the more popular it is.

Eating black rice: One of the highlights of the Grain Rain Festival. Its production stems from the ingenious use of nature, and it symbolizes engagement as a good luck charm and a sign. Every household prepares black rice, and eating a bowl of it symbolizes a farewell to spring and conveys good wishes for the future.

Blackface: A traditional activity during the Grain Rain Festival. Participants smear black paint on their faces to ward off evil spirits and pray for peace and health.

Throwing You (獣獣) is a unique custom of the Grain Rain Festival. In the Dong language, "You" refers to a small bamboo basket for carrying things. On Grain Rain Day, the engaged man's family will throw a bamboo basket filled with black rice into the woman's home. The woman is then required to fill it up and then take it out. This is a way to express affection and blessings for the girl's upcoming marriage.

There will be many activities related to the Grain Rain Festival in the scenic area, the specific details will be subject to the announcement of the scenic area;

Driving distance: 200 kilometers, about 3 hours

Day 4: Zhaoxing Dong Village → Basha Miao Village → Jiabang Rice Terraces

All day

After breakfast, we'll depart for Basha Miao Village, a renowned Chinese musketry tribe. Basha Miao men and women wear distinctive headdresses and traditional Black Miao clothing. They still maintain ancient customs, such as carrying muskets and worshipping ancient trees, making them a living fossil of Miao culture.

After lunch at Basha Miao Village, we set off for the Jiabang Rice Terraces. Jiabang is one of the three largest rice terraces in China. Deep within the village, you'll see the Miao people's unique stilt houses dotted among the terraces, like planets dotting the Milky Way. Every morning, mist slowly rises from the riverbank, enchanting us as if we were in a dreamland.

We stayed in Jiabang that night.

Driving distance: 120 kilometers, about 2.5 hours

Day 5 Jiabang Rice Terraces → Rongjiang County → Xijiang Thousand Household Miao Village

All day

In the morning, we once again enjoyed the beautiful scenery of Jiabang Rice Terraces in the early morning light.

At noon, we will pass by Rongjiang County, the birthplace of "Village Super", where we will check in at the "Village Super" football field and have a free meal.

Afterwards, we'll gather and depart for Xijiang Thousand Household Miao Village. Upon arrival, you'll be captivated by the majestic stilt houses nestled in the valley. We'll experience the Xijiang City Walk, starting at the Miao Museum, where we'll learn about the Miao people's rich and profound culture, encompassing everything from clothing and food to festivals, weddings, and art. We'll savor "biangdang" rice wine, a specialty of Miao people, at a mountainside winery. We'll also enjoy a refreshing break at a popular cafe, before ascending to the summit of Xijiang River. This new experience offers a chance to experience the authentic flavors of Xijiang (with a complimentary Miao clothing experience near the Wind and Rain Bridge).

We checked into the scenic area that night and arranged a long table banquet for everyone. We drank Guizhou rice wine while the Miao girls sang, and everyone gathered together to drink and chat.

After dinner, you will have free time. We recommend you go to the observation deck to overlook the panoramic view of Xijiang River, appreciate the dazzling night view of Xijiang River, and feel the magnificence of the "Miao People's Potala Palace".
