Day 1 Shanghai → Tianlong Grand Canyon → Tianchi Lake in Western Zhejiang

All day

In the morning, we met at the designated China-TravelNote location, checked in, and boarded the bus for our departure at 7:30 AM. Along the way, we interacted with the staff, enjoying a lively atmosphere.
Around 12:00 PM, we stopped at a local farmer's house for lunch, enjoying authentic local cuisine.
At 1:30 PM, we departed. After about half an hour, we arrived at the entrance of the Tianlong Grand Canyon and ascended along the canyon.
Around 5:00 PM, we arrived at Tianchi Lake in western Zhejiang, on the border of Zhejiang and Anhui, where we settled in for accommodation and refreshments. Since it's still early, we could explore the reservoir dam for some posing. (Tianchi Lake, located on the border of Ningguo, Anhui, and Lin'an, Zhejiang, is a thousand hectares wide and over 20 meters deep. It's rich in freshwater fish. The surrounding area is vast, with towering mountains surrounding the sacred lake on all sides. It's a beautiful alpine lake, coined the phrase "the sacred lake is vast and the sky is floating in the sky.")
Dinner was served at the resort around 6:30 PM. After dinner, we have free time. Tonight we will stay by the Tianchi Lake. In the evening, we will be together, playing games, singing, bragging, and dancing...

Day 2 Tianchi Lake in Western Zhejiang → Wuyue Ancient Road → Shanghai

All day

At 7:30 AM, after breakfast, we set out from Tianchi Lake and hiked around it, descending the ancient Wuyue Trail. We descended the path, traversed by stone steps, along the edge of Tianchi Lake towards Qianqing Pass, where the ancient pass, now reduced to ruins, was a truly humbling experience. We passed Windmill, Red Flower Tree Waterfall, Wuli Leisure Cave, Guanxi River, an ancient wooden bridge, and Kowtow Stone. Arriving in Ningguo, Anhui around noon, we found a farmhouse for lunch and rested briefly before the bus back to Shanghai. We
returned to the city center around 7:00 PM, and everyone, still feeling unsatisfied, shared a tearful farewell.

The Wuyue Ancient Trail is approximately 35 kilometers long, with 15 kilometers remaining intact. It served as the primary route between Wuyue (Zhejiang) and Southern Tang (Anhui) during the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. Ascending the stone steps along the Wuyue Ancient Trail, you'll be met by streams and waterfalls, winding through secluded paths, undulating and winding, creating a sense of unity between heaven and earth, a journey like a journey through a painting. It takes about 2-3 hours to reach Qianqing Pass, a natural gate formed by two massive, smooth granite slabs. Standing like a gate, this natural stone gate stands nearly 4 meters high, 3 meters thick, and wide enough for two people to walk side by side. Its imposing presence is like "one man guarding the pass, ten thousand cannot break through." Climb the stone gate and push aside the branches above to reveal the undulating stone walls on either side, revealing the ancient city walls. Qianqing Pass, along with Qianqiu Pass and Yuling Pass, are known as the Three Passes of Northern Zhejiang, crucial gateways protecting the Wuyue capital of Lin'an. About 400 meters further on lies Tianchi Lake in Western Zhejiang, known as the "First Pool of Jiangnan." Nestled atop Qianqing Mountain at an altitude of 1,100 meters, the breathtakingly beautiful Tianchi Lake in Western Zhejiang boasts a breathtakingly clear, deep blue water, blending seamlessly with the sky. The gently sloping hills offer expansive views, making it the primary habitat for the sika deer, a nationally protected species. Surrounded by low mountains, lush grasses, gurgling springs, and crisscrossing streams, the lake forms a vast basin in its center, creating a scene of mountains grazing on Qianqing Mountain and water flowing into the lake. Covering 900 mu (approximately 1,000 mu), Tianchi Lake in Western Zhejiang is one of the highest and largest lakes in Jiangnan. It can be described as "a vast divine pond, a mirror of the sky floating in the air."
