The first day is a full-day gathering day. Tourists will go to the gathering hotel in Chaozhou according to their arrival time in Chaozhou.

Please check in at the hotel by submitting your "China-Travel Note + Name" at the front desk. It is recommended that tourists arrive as early as possible so that they can have free time in Chaozhou.

Recommended places to visit: Chaozhou West Lake, Fenghuangzhou Park, Thai Buddha Temple, etc. You can also experience the slow life of Chaozhou and local cuisine in the ancient city.


Transportation to Chaozhou Hotel

Chaoshan High-Speed ​​Railway Station: Take the K2 high-speed rail bus to the Central Hospital Station. From there, take a taxi for about 10 yuan to hotels near Chaozhou Ancient City. Request a taxi using the app for 80-100 yuan.
Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport: Take the Jieyang Chaoshan Airport-Chaozhou Line, two stops to Jinxin Building Station. Transfer to the K1 high-speed rail line, four stops to the Central Hospital Station. From there, take a taxi for about 10 yuan to hotels near Chaozhou Ancient City. Request a taxi using the app for 70-90 yuan.

Day 2 Chaozhou Ancient City

For breakfast, you can explore the local delicacies in the ancient city on your own.

In the morning, we will go to Kaiyuan Temple. The whole temple retains the layout of the Tang Dynasty and embodies the architectural art of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. We will feel the prosperity of the incense here.

We then headed to the Guangji Bridge, a unique example of an ancient bridge that combines beam, floating, and arch bridges. Arriving at one side of the bridge, we visited the Han Yu Memorial Temple (closed on Mondays) and listened to our guide explain Han Yu's life and contributions to the ancient city of Chaozhou. We then climbed Bijia Hill for a bird's-eye view of the Guangji Bridge and the ancient city in the morning light.

Then walk back to the ancient city and return to the Guangji Gate Tower, which is the first of the seven gate towers in Chaozhou Ancient City.

At noon, you can walk around the streets of the ancient city to explore the delicious food, and try the authentic Chaoshan cuisine such as Hesheng sugar scallion pancakes, braised goose, and Hu Rongquan's duck mother rolls.


After lunch, the tour leader will lead everyone to the Jilue Huanggong Temple to experience the Chaozhou wood carving art hall and feel the traditional charm of Chaozhou architecture.

Then go to the teahouse to enjoy Kung Fu tea

Make a pot of tea, sip some watermelon seeds, and enjoy the wonderful Yingge dance performance on the stage.

P.S. If Yingge Teahouse is under maintenance or closed, we will adjust to other teahouses in the ancient city to enjoy Gongfu tea and watch Teochew opera.


After watching the performance, we went to learn the [Hand-Pulled Teapot Making Experience] and experience the process of making a hand-pulled teapot with our own unique shape.

In the evening, you can relax and enjoy the light show in the ancient city.

There will be more people in the ancient city during holidays, and the tour leader has the right to adjust the order of visits according to the number of tourists.

Note: Han Wengong Temple is closed on Mondays and cannot be visited. This attraction requires climbing stairs, so if you have bad knees, you can skip it.

Day 3 Chaozhou → Longhu Ancient Village → Nan'ao Island

After breakfast, check out and head to Longhu Ancient Village

The drive takes about half an hour. Entering Longhu Village, we find neatly arranged streets and alleys, countless ancestral halls, deep courtyards, and intertwined, thousand-year-old banyan trees. Our exploration of the streets and alleys took about 1.5 hours.


Then we took a bus to Nan'ao Island and passed the red Changshanwei Lighthouse. We stopped here to admire the spectacular Nan'ao Cross-sea Bridge. As the first cross-sea bridge in Guangdong Province, it is 11 kilometers long and extremely spectacular.

At lunch time, we will have lunch at a local restaurant to taste local delicacies, and then go to Qing'ao Bay to check into a hotel by the beach.


In the afternoon, we will go to the Tropic of Cancer Natural Gate Square to check in the landmark building of Nan'ao Island. Then we will walk to the beach of Qing'ao Bay for free time to play in the water and sand and feel the charm of Nan'ao Island.

In the morning, you can choose to get up early to watch the sunrise on the beach, or sleep until you wake up naturally and enjoy a relaxing time by the sea.

At the right time, we went to [Shantou Small Park]

The arcades and streets here radiate out in a fan-shaped pattern, creating a bustling commercial and residential district with architectural features from the 1930s. Here, you'll find long-established eateries like Piaoxiang Snack Shop, Laoma Palace Zongqiu (rice dumplings), Aixi Dry Noodles, and Xiaogongyuan Egg Tarts. Enjoy a free lunch at Xiaogongyuan. (Those who wish to stay longer in Shantou can leave at Xiaogongyuan.)


After lunch we will depart and first send you to Chaoshan Jieyang Airport and then to Chaoshan High-speed Railway Station.

Arrive at Chaoshan Jieyang Airport around 15:00. Tourists taking a plane are advised to book flights after 16:30.

Arrive at Chaoshan High-Speed ​​Railway Station around 15:30. Tourists taking the high-speed rail are advised to book a train after 16:30.

Driving time: Nan'ao to Shantou, about 1.5 hours; Shantou to Airport/High-speed Railway Station, about 1 hour

Note: If you want to stay in Nan'ao for an extra night, you can book a hotel for an extra night. For the return trip, you can take a taxi to Shantou city (about 200 yuan) or take the bus back to Shantou city (Nan'ao Bus No. 602, transfer to Bus No. 162, which takes about 2.5 hours).

After arriving at Chaoshan Jieyang Airport, you can take the express bus to Chaozhou Jinxin Hotel Station (50 minutes), then take a taxi to the hotel in the ancient city (10 minutes). Alternatively, you can take a taxi directly from the airport to the ancient city hotel (approximately 1 hour, typically priced between 80 and 100 yuan).

After arriving at Chaoshan High-speed Railway Station, you can take the K2 express bus to Chaozhou to the Central Hospital Station and then walk 1 km to the Gucheng Hotel. The second option is to take a taxi directly from Chaoshan High-speed Railway Station to the Gucheng Hotel (the journey takes about 1 hour and the price is generally 70-90 yuan).

Tips: When taking a taxi, please choose a reliable taxi-hailing platform. If you choose a taxi, please ask whether it is metered. If not, be sure to negotiate the price with the driver in advance before getting in the car (taxis in Chaoshan area may share passengers)
