Day 2 Tunxi → Shitan

All day

Departing early in the morning, the light is at its best! We took the 180-degree U-turn at the Xin'an River Landscape Gallery to capture the morning scenery! The lush green mountains, clear waters, gray tiles and white walls, and the spring rapeseed blossoms add to the scenery—it's simply breathtaking!

We arrived at Shitan Village around noon. After lunch, we chartered a car to Xiatai Village for our assigned room. After a short rest, we headed to Beishan. This is a dreamy route, and starting in March, the route is a sea of flowers. As we walked and took photos, we could see the emerald Changxi River in the distance, and the white-walled, black-tiled Hui-style houses nestled among the yellow flowers. It was a breathtaking sight...

We then proceeded to Hushan Village for some free time to photograph. This desolate, deserted village, its dilapidated old houses dotted with vibrant peach and rapeseed blossoms, evokes a sense of fleeting time.
Before sunset, we returned to the Xiatai Observation Deck to capture the sunset. In the evening, we exchanged photographic techniques.

Driving distance: about 60 kilometers

Day 3 Shitan → Tachuan → Hongcun

All day

In the morning, we will take photos of the beautiful scenery of Shitan in the morning mist and the sunrise. After breakfast, we can also take some photos of the village's cultural heritage. We will descend at an appropriate time and pass by an ancient village with an old ancestral hall and an old barber shop. You can take a few more photos in the village.

On the way, we will pass the most spectacular Qing Dynasty covered bridge in the ancient Huizhou area - the North Bank Covered Bridge. We will go into the village to take some photos.

At noon, we arrived in Tunxi for lunch. After lunch, we continued along Southern Anhui's Spring Avenue, where vast fields of rapeseed blossoms filled the landscape. We stopped at convenient locations for photography. We passed by the entrance of the Hongcun Tunnel and took a bird's-eye view of Xieli. Xieli is known as a "colorful world" in autumn, and spring offers a unique wild charm. After stopping and starting again, we arrived at Tachuan around 4:00 PM. Tachuan is known as the "Chinese Village in a Painting." In spring, Tachuan is awash in rapeseed and peach blossoms, red, yellow, and purple, with the snow-white rooftops of horse-head houses peeking through the vibrant foliage. At sunset, curls of smoke rise, creating a tranquil and distant ink painting of a harmonious union between nature and humanity.

After taking photos of the sunset at Tachuan, we headed to Hongcun. After our rooms were assigned, we had dinner at our own leisure. We could first get to know the layout of Hongcun and take some photos of its cultural architecture.

At night, you can freely take photos of the night view of Hongcun.

Driving distance: about 130 kilometers

Day 4 Hongcun → Lucun → Kecun

All day

Rise early to photograph Lu Village amidst the morning mist. If the fog is thick, head to Xieli High Point for aerial photos of the ancient village's sea of clouds. Afterward, enjoy the scenic drive to Hongcun. Upon returning to Hongcun, enjoy some free time for photography and creative work until noon. Enjoy lunch, gather, and check out.

At noon, we'll head to Ke Village, home to "Southern Anhui's largest rapeseed basin." Thousands of acres of rapeseed fields are a feast for the eyes. Standing on the observation deck, you'll be captivated by the vast canvas before you. The canvas is smudged with yellow, interspersed with green, and the pink walls and black tiles are staggered, looming in and out. It's a breathtaking sea of rapeseed blossoms! We'll find our own camera position to capture the scene. In the evening, we'll spend some free time photographing the village's people. We'll stay at a Ke Village farmhouse for dinner. Remember to retire early after a day of filming.

On a clear day, the night sky is never lonely. With a wide aperture and high ISO, energetic tourists can go! Ke Village is a perfect place for starry sky photography!

Driving distance: about 60 kilometers

Day 5 Ke Village → Wuyuan Jiangling

All day

We got up early and headed to the sunrise spot to photograph the rising morning mist at Ke Village. Ke Village is a new photography spot exclusively developed by China-TravelNote. Amidst the green mountains and clear waters, golden rapeseed flowers blanket the ground. In the misty morning mist, the beautiful Ke Village looks like a fairyland.

As the sun rose higher, we returned to Ke Village, where everyone enjoyed some free time to photograph the local culture. The villagers are simple, kind, and hardworking; they work from sunrise to sunset, leading a leisurely and peaceful life. The buildings are remarkably old-fashioned.

We'll gather at the appropriate time and head towards Wuyuan. We'll have lunch at Tsinghua University, where we can take photos of the Rainbow Bridge with rapeseed blossoms in the foreground. After lunch, we'll continue north. Compared to the bustling southern route, the northern route offers a more tranquil and picturesque scenery. We'll soon arrive at Hongguan Ancient Camphor, a quaint village with several thousand-year-old camphor trees at the entrance and ancient bridges crisscrossing beneath them. Just thinking about it creates a beautiful scene. Here, we'll arrange for a farmer to pose for photos with an old cow.

We took photos as we walked along the way, and it was a good time to stop and take pictures of the sunset. In the evening, we went to [Jiangling] to check in, and everyone had a photography exchange at night!

Driving distance: about 160 kilometers

Day 6: Tianjiangling → Zhangcun → Wuyuan County

All day

Rising early, our photography team leader led us to Observation Deck No. 1 to capture the sunrise and create some creative photography! Jiangling is perhaps the most worthwhile destination in Wuyuan, where the rapeseed flowers blanket the mountains in terraced fields, spreading from the mountaintops down to the valley below. From the summit, the vast valley below is filled with layers of rapeseed flowers, stretching as far as the eye can see. Nestled within the valley are several small villages, where the black-tiled, white-walled Hui-style houses are nestled amidst a sea of golden light. Nothing in Wuyuan could be more spectacular and breathtaking.

After the photo shoot, we returned to the village for breakfast. Then, we could freely take photos all the way down the mountain until we reached the No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 viewing platforms, where we could enjoy the Jiangling rapeseed terraces from different angles.

We descended the mountain around noon, rested briefly after lunch, and headed to Zhang Village, where a tranquil river and a peaceful meadow lie beside it. Nestled within this elegant setting is Wuyuan's longest wooden plank bridge, attracting countless visitors for photography and sketching. It's considered Jiangnan's most beautiful bench-shaped bridge.

In the evening, we will go to the county town to stay overnight. Everyone can have dinner freely, or follow the tour leader to go AA.

Driving distance: about 50 kilometers

Day 7 Wuyuan County → Moon Bay → Tunxi ★ Disbandment Day

All day

Get up early in the morning and head to the beautiful Moon Bay. In the morning light, a crescent moon appears faintly in the morning mist. We will arrange for fishermen to pose for photos. Facing the rising sun, the sandbar is like a crescent moon quietly floating in the spring water. Add in the fishermen casting their nets and the twinkling fishing lights, and there is a soft and gentle flavor of the Jiangnan region. It will definitely make a great photo, so feel free to create!

After the photoshoot, we returned to the county town for breakfast, then bid farewell to Wuyuan and headed back to Tunxi. We embarked on our return journey, arriving at Huangshan Airport around 12:00 PM and Huangshan Station around 12:30 PM. We were reluctant to leave home, with a tearful kiss and a goodbye! Remember to hand in your homework when you get back!

Driving distance: about 100 kilometers

Q: How do I shoot if it rains?

A: Huizhou has abundant rainfall, which is why it is known as the "Ink Painting Huizhou". If there is fog or clouds, you can shoot the ink painting effect. Showers or light rain will not affect your photography as long as you bring a raincoat and camera rain cover. (Based on the weather forecast of the Central Meteorological Observatory)

Shitan Village lies at the foot of the Baiji Mountains, a mere half-hour's hike up the mountain. Hidden within the mountains are dozens of quaint villages, the only access to the outside world being a narrow path. Villagers rely on mules to bring in daily necessities, production materials, and construction materials.
Best time for photography: March, when spring blossoms fill the mountains with azaleas, rapeseed, pear, and peach blossoms. Around the beginning of winter, yellow and white chrysanthemums are harvested.

The North Bank Covered Bridge is the most unique and spectacular of Huizhou's covered bridges, built in the mid-Qing Dynasty. It is a three-arch stone bridge, 33 meters long, 4.7 meters wide, and 6 meters high. The brick and wood structure stands approximately 5 meters high. The east and west corridors feature distinctive decorations: the east corridor features eight large square windows, each decorated with brick grilles in tortoise shell or plum blossom patterns; the west corridor features eight stained glass windows, each shaped like a full moon, an ancient vase, a leaf, or a gourd. Symmetrical gates, each constructed of thick, openable wooden doors, are cut into the north and south corridor walls across the river. The south corridor's lintel reads "Xiangxianli" (Xiangxianli), flanked by the characters "Xiliu Yuxiu" (Xiliu Yuxiu). The north corridor's lintel reads "Qian'an Jiuzhi" (Qian'an Old Site). The corridor is divided into 11 rooms, all lined with benches. Only the west side of the second room on the north end has a "beauty chair" placed outside the window, distinct from the other benches.

Nestled against the mountainside, just 2 kilometers from Hongcun, Tachuan is a uniquely charming mountain village among the many beautiful and lush natural villages of Yixian County's "Little Peach Blossom Land." The ancient dwellings, with their elegantly arranged layers of eaves and corners, resemble a pagoda rising from the valley.

Lu Village is an ancient village nestled in a sea of rapeseed flowers. This ancient Huizhou village is nestled against mountains and faces water, with ancient trees standing tall. When the rapeseed flowers bloom, the boundless sea of flowers complements the Hui-style buildings in the village, creating a magnificent and beautiful rural landscape painting.

Hongcun, located in the northeast of Yi County, Anhui Province, was founded during the Shaoxi reign of the Southern Song Dynasty (1131 AD) and boasts a history of over 800 years. Known as the "village in a Chinese painting," it was built based on bionics in ancient China, with a unique "ox-shaped village" design: "mountains form the ox's head, trees form the horns, bridges form the hooves, and houses form the body." The founding ancestor, Wang Jiu, was a descendant of Wang Hua, Duke of Yue in the early Tang Dynasty.

It's rapeseed bloom season in Kecun Township, Yi County, southern Anhui's largest rapeseed basin. Standing on the observation deck, you're struck by the vast print before you. The canvas is smudged with yellow, with green hidden within. Pink walls and black tiles are staggered and looming, creating a truly breathtaking sea of rapeseed blossoms!

Wuyuan, an ancient county with a rich history in Jiangxi Province, was once under the jurisdiction of Anhui Province. It was one of the six counties of the ancient Huizhou Prefecture. It is the hometown of Zhu Xi, a renowned Neo-Confucianist of the Southern Song Dynasty, and Zhan Tianyou, the father of Chinese railways. "The most fascinating place in my life is Huizhou, where I never dreamed of visiting it." "Huizhou" is a term increasingly mentioned, and some say it is the home of traditional Chinese culture. Located in a remote mountainous area, Wuyuan has fortunately preserved all the charm of ancient Huizhou. Wuyuan is a land of picturesque scenery, with lush greenery and lush waters, interspersed with pine and bamboo trees. Ancient dwellings with soaring eaves and pointed corners meander among the lush green hills and waters. Some nestle against the hillsides, hidden among ancient trees and verdant forests, while others lean against the water, reflected in streams and pools. The contrast with the terraced fields and swirling clouds creates a picturesque scene. The scenery is captivating in each season, especially in spring and autumn, when azaleas and crimson maple leaves blanket the mountains like clusters of fiery flames, vying for beauty. Such scenery is truly refreshing and unforgettable.
