Dongshan Island: Southwest of Suzhou city lies a natural holiday destination, practically surrounded by the lake. It boasts mountains, water, gardens, ancient villages, traditional houses, and seasonal fresh produce. This is Dongshan Island, Taihu Lake, known as Suzhou's back garden. Located southwest of Suzhou city, Dongshan Island was once an island in Taihu Lake. Over time, it became a peninsula jutting into the lake, but the name Dongshan Island has endured.
