Zhongshan Historic Trail: A Day Hike on the Qi'ao Historic Trail and Savor Authentic Shiqi Pigeon

Day 1 Guangzhou → Wuguishan Town, Zhongshan → Pigeon Restaurant → Guangzhou

08:00 Meet and check in at Exit B of Ke Village. Please look for the yellow China-TravelNote flag.

We set off at 08:30. The tour leader introduced the itinerary and precautions on the bus, and introduced everyone to each other. We sang and laughed all the way to Zhongshan.

10:00 Arrive at the starting point of the hike and gather in the small square to warm up after getting off the bus.

Start hiking at 10:20. Please walk slowly on the uphill section and do not chase or rush.

11:20 Passing by the ruins of Yunjing Temple and Tudi Temple, there is an uninterrupted stone road with occasional small earthen slopes.

Arrive at the small village lunch spot around 12:30 to enjoy a roadside meal (please bring your own), and everyone will show their outdoor spirit and share with each other.

Shortly after passing the village at 2:00 PM, you'll pass a river tracing trail, following the stream along a beautiful path. After the tracing trail, there's a nearly 1km uphill section, returning to the Yunjing Temple ruins where you started. Then, descend the stairs back to the starting point.

At around 17:00, all members arrived at the end of the hike, gathered and set off to the pigeon restaurant.

The restaurant specializes in squab dishes - squab hotpot, squab rice, braised squab... after hiking, treat yourself

Around 18:00, after a full meal, we set off back to Guangzhou with a full stomach.

Wuguishan is a mountain range in Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province, and a key tourism development zone in Guangdong Province. Within its jurisdiction, you'll find rolling green hills, flowing streams, and fragrant flowers all year round.

The "Qi" in the Qi'ao Ancient Trail refers to Shiqi, the seat of Xiangshan County, which is now the Shiqi urban area of ​​Zhongshan City, and the "Ao" refers to Macau. Many of the first generation of overseas Chinese who went abroad to work and strive for success followed the Qi'ao Ancient Trail to Macau, where they boarded ships for Hong Kong or other overseas destinations.
