Day 1 All places → or → Yichang ★ All day gathering day
All day
Today is the gathering day for the event. Tourists from all over the world will choose their own transportation and meet at the front desk of the designated hotel in Yichang. Please provide "China-Travel Note + Name" to check in and arrange your room.
Daily group: If your local area has a night train that arrives at Yichang East Railway Station before 7:40 the next morning (such as Z257), you can take one less day off and directly meet up with the main group the next morning to start hiking. (You need to book your ticket in advance, make a note on your order, and inform the tour leader. If you do not stay on the first night, you can get a 100 yuan refund 7 days in advance.)
Major holidays: The departure time will be advanced according to traffic conditions. Please contact customer service for specific information.
Kind tips:
1. This route is a purely outdoor route! ! ! ! Not a leisure route! ! ! ! It has a distinct Ailao Mountain feel!
Mountainous areas have many microclimates and the weather is changeable, so take precautions against rain and snow (professional rain gear, waterproof hiking shoes, etc.);
2. There are no showers, toilets, or charging areas during the hike in the uninhabited area of this itinerary. Please be careful if you mind! ! !
Camps 1 and 2 in the itinerary refer to areas suitable for overnight stays, which are different from regular urban outdoor camps!
Recommended itinerary|
If you arrive early, you can explore Yichang city on your own.
You can go to Binjiang Park or Yiling Yangtze River Bridge to enjoy the scenery of the Yangtze River. Zhenjiang Pavilion across the river is a good place to enjoy the night view of the city.
Yichang’s night market stalls are also very famous, including Taozhu Road Night Market, Beimen Night Market, etc. You can enjoy the food to your heart’s content, but please pay attention to hygiene.
Notice:
1. You need to prepare two lunches (travel meals) by yourself. We recommend that you buy fast food (high-calorie foods such as chocolate, beef jerky, nuts, compressed biscuits, bread, etc.) in Yichang (there is a large supermarket near the hotel). The ingredients for dinner and breakfast will be purchased by China-TravelNote.
2. Porters are only responsible for carrying the group's tents, mats, food, stoves and other public items, and are not responsible for personal items and sleeping bags.
If you need to hire a porter, please inform us in advance. The porter fee is 900 yuan/3 days, and the weight limit for each porter is 15 kg. The porter will not accompany you during the hike and will meet you at the camp, so he will only carry camp supplies, such as sleeping bags and clothes.

Day 2 Yichang → Muyu → Caiqi Village → Shangcaiqi Village → Yangangpo Camp No. 1
·morning
Depart from Yichang around 8:00 after breakfast (if it is a holiday, the departure may be earlier, around 07:30, the specific departure will be subject to the tour leader's notification the day before)
After about four hours, we'll reach Tiansheng Bridge, where we'll have lunch and buy some supplies. We'll then meet up with our guide and porters (see the activity equipment for a list of what the porters are carrying). Then, we'll officially begin our journey through the mysterious, uninhabited area.
Supplies: Water prepared for today's hike the day before (logistics staff will boil water after arriving at Camp 1), lunch for two days, and other personal supplies
·afternoon
We took a small car to Caiqi Village and then started our hike in the uninhabited area.
Today we will climb through the primeval forest. Shennongjia is quite similar to Ailao Mountain. It is a small area on the map and is not so eye-catching. Most of the area is shrouded in mystery.
Go upstream along the Black Water River. Because the river is at the bottom of the canyon and is not exposed to sunlight, walking here during the day feels like night, hence the name.
The climb at the beginning is quite steep, so everyone needs to control their own climbing rhythm. It takes about 2 hours to climb to the pass. At this point, we have passed the difficult part of the day, and we can walk slowly on the rest of the way.
Walking through the primeval forest, feeling the primitive wilderness, we arrived at today's Camp No. 1, which is about 2,000 meters above sea level.
The porters would arrive at the camp earlier than us, set up tents and cook.
Dinner menu: rice, hot pot, cold dishes, fruit after meal (adjusted according to the actual situation of each season)
After a satisfying meal, everyone can play games like "Kill the Kill" and "Truth or Dare" under the moonlit night sky. It's so relaxing! Falling asleep to the sound of a gurgling spring is a truly special experience!
Kind tips:
1. Tonight's camp is approximately 2,000 meters above sea level, so be prepared for the cold weather! From May to August, we recommend a -5°C sleeping bag; from September to May, a -10°C sleeping bag is recommended. The specific amount of clothing should be prepared based on your body temperature and personal preferences.
2. There is a cook in the camp who will boil water, which you can put in a kettle for the next day (it is recommended to prepare a 2L water bag or thermal kettle, etc.).
From mid-to-late March to April, the alpine azaleas begin to bloom, and you can enjoy the scenery of wild alpine azaleas (the specific flowering period depends on the weather conditions of the year).

Day 3: Camp 1 at Yangshanpo → Primeval Forest → Laojunzhai → Camp 2 at Dujuanlin
·morning
In the morning we woke up to the sounds of running water, insects chirping, and possibly the calls of other wild animals. After washing up, the logistics team had already prepared breakfast!
Breakfast menu: noodles or porridge, steamed buns, eggs, pickles
After packing up, continue today's journey~
We will gradually walk out of the primeval forest and start crossing the alpine meadows, and the whole sky will be open.
Around noon, we will arrive at a vast alpine meadow and take a short break here. We will eat some dry food to replenish our energy. If you are lucky, you may be able to see the rolling sea of clouds.
If tourists are in good physical condition, they can climb Laojunzhai with light luggage (need to turn back, one way is about 600m, climbing about 60m). Although it is called Laojunzhai, it is not a village, but the name of a small hill, about 2,800 meters above sea level.
·afternoon
After a rest, we headed towards today's camp, going downhill all the way to Camp 2 in Dujuan Forest, which is about 2,600 meters above sea level.
After the tourists who arrived early had a short rest, we could go watch the sunset.
Enjoy a sumptuous dinner and fall asleep under the starry sky at night.
Dinner menu: rice, hot pot, cold dishes, fruit after meal (adjusted according to the actual situation of each season)
Kind tips:
If it rains, the road will be slippery and muddy; if it is winter, the roadside is prone to ice, so please prepare crampons. The route will mainly be through alpine meadows.

Day 4: Camp No. 2 in Dujuan Forest → Yunpan Conservation Station → Tiansheng Bridge → Yichang
·morning
Climbing to the top of Laojun Mountain
Tourists with good physical fitness can get up early (around 5:30) and hike to the top of Laojun Mountain (about 5km round trip, the summit is about 3000 meters above sea level).
Tired tourists can rest in the camp. If the weather is good, you can take photos of the sunrise or enjoy the morning scenery.
·morning
Farewell to No Man's Land
Breakfast menu: noodles or porridge, steamed buns, eggs, pickles
After breakfast, pack up the camp and set off on time (depending on the actual situation).
Today we will go downhill all the way, and we will return to the primeval forest from the alpine meadow, crossing the moss-covered stream. The scenery along the way is very beautiful.
·afternoon
If all goes well, it will take about 5 hours to reach the Yunpan Protection Station, which is about 1,600 meters above sea level, and end the crossing of the no-man's land.
After two and a half days of crossing the Shennongjia No Man's Land, everyone must be filled with emotion. Don't forget to take a photo with our work team!
Afterwards, we took a car to leave the Yunpan Conservation Station and then took a bus back to Yichang to disband;
After spending these few days together, everyone must have formed a deep friendship. On the way back, you may want to share some interesting things about your trip.
Considering that the route will be more difficult if it rains, we estimate that the time for departure is relatively ample. It is recommended to stay one more night in Yichang
We are expected to arrive at Yichang Three Gorges Airport at 9:00 PM and Yichang East Station at 9:30 PM. We will kiss each other goodbye with tears in our eyes. Remember to hand in your homework!
Please book trains after 21:30 and flights after 22:30.
Kind tips:
During major holidays (Labor Day, Dragon Boat Festival, and National Day), traffic jams are likely to occur! It is recommended to reserve more time!
