Today, tourists from all over the country can travel to Lijiang Sanyi Airport/Lijiang Railway Station at their own convenience. Upon arrival, a complimentary 24-hour shuttle service will be provided, followed by transfers to your hotel. Lijiang Old Town, nestled against the mountainside, with its streets and alleys shaped by the water, was once a trading market along the ancient Tea-Horse Road. The old town is dotted with shops selling local specialties, including ethnic jewelry, tea, silverware, and shawls. Additionally, there are numerous restaurants offering everything from local cuisine to Western pizzas.

Day 2 Lijiang → Tiger Leaping Gorge → Shangri-La → Dukezong Ancient Town

丨Encountering Tiger Leaping Gorge/Feeling the passionate surge of the Jinsha River

After breakfast, we'll depart for Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of China's deepest canyons. The gorge is divided into three sections: Upper, Middle, and Lower Tiger Leaping, stretching approximately 20 kilometers. We'll then visit the Upper Tiger Leaping Scenic Area Observation Deck. Here, the Jinsha River cuts through the Haba and Yulong Snow Mountains, creating a gorge with a dramatic 3,900-meter drop. The Yangtze River narrows dramatically, its waters surging and surging, a truly breathtaking sight.

Next, we'll head to the high-road for a light hike (approximately 5 km/2 hours/approximately 2,400 meters above sea level). This entry-level hike offers breathtaking scenery. Haba Snow Mountain looms on the left, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain on the right, and the surging Jinsha River flows beneath us. The river's surface is 1,800 meters above sea level, yet the canyon is over 3,500 meters deep. Between the snow-capped mountains, the river narrows, its waters roaring and surging. We'll choose the section from the Tea Horse Inn to the Midway Inn to enjoy the magnificent canyon scenery.

The hike concludes at Halfway Inn, a legendary inn with breathtaking views that has been renowned in the global outdoor community for over 40 years. From the canyon-view balcony, gaze out over a corner of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, sip a cup of coffee, and enjoy a quiet post-hike getaway.

丨Painting Tibetan Thangka / Brush sketches the world of Buddha

Note: Guests who do not hike can choose [Thangka Painting], either a light hike in Tiger Leaping Gorge or a Thangka Painting experience.

If you prefer not to hike, you can visit Dukezong Ancient Town in Shangri-La for a Thangka Painting Experience. Thangka is a unique Tibetan art form. With distinct ethnic characteristics, rich religious overtones, and a distinctive artistic style, it depicts the sacred world of Buddha in bright colors. Afterwards, you can freely wander the ancient town and enjoy the leisurely pace of your vacation.

Arro Khampa Manor is located in the Dukezong Ancient Town of Shangri-La, near the Big Turtle Temple and a three-minute walk from Sifang Street and Moonlight Square. Renovated from a former Tusi residence within the ancient town, the hotel's exterior features Tibetan architectural features, and the interior decor also reflects a rich Tibetan ethnic style.

Day 3 Shangri-La → Benzilan → Deqin → Wunongding/Feilaisi Observation Deck

Retracing the Tea Horse Road/ The confluence of the Hengduan Mountains and the Jinsha River

After breakfast, we'll depart, passing through Benzilan, a key town on the ancient Tea-Horse Road. Continuing on, we'll reach Moon Bay, the first bend of the Jinsha River. We'll stop for a short rest before continuing up the Baima Snow Mountain section of National Highway 214. En route, we'll visit Dongzhulin Temple, situated on the shores of Xianhe Lake. This is the oldest Gelugpa monastery in western Yunnan and one of the Thirteen Great Temples in the Kham Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. Dongzhulin Temple boasts a rich collection of artifacts, including three unique three-dimensional Vajra Kalachakra mandalas found in the Kham-Tibet region, symbolizing the wisdom of the Kingdom of Shambhala.

丨First sight of Mount Meili / Probably the most beautiful snow-capped mountain in China

We'll continue on to the Wunongding Snow Mountain Observation Deck, nestled against the Baima Snow Mountain. This location offers the most expansive views in Deqin County, offering breathtaking views of the majestic rolling snow-capped mountains, Feilaisi Village at its foot, and the Lancang River valley. Continuing on, we'll reach the Feilaisi Snow Mountain Observation Deck, facing Kawagebo, the main peak of the Meili Snow Mountain, making it a prime photo spot. We'll then check into our hotel, where we'll be provided with a room offering a view of the Meili Snow Mountain.

Get up early and enjoy the golden sunshine on the Meili Snow Mountain. The Kawagebo and Mentsim Mountains are shining brightly under the golden light, which is a breathtaking beauty.

We then drove to Shangri-La, enjoying a delicious black clay chicken soup pot in Nixi Township. Upon arrival, we'll first visit Napa Lake, where we'll enjoy a short drive along the lakefront road. In autumn and winter, Napa Lake is home to numerous migratory birds, offering a chance to observe these highland birds from afar.

丨Pilgrimage to Songtsen Monastery/Shangri-La's Potala Palace in Western Yunnan

We'll then travel to Songzanlin Temple, Yunnan's largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery. Built into the mountainside, Songzanlin Temple resembles the Potala Palace. Its unique five-story carved Tibetan architecture embodies the essence of Tibetan plastic arts and is known as the "Tibetan Art Museum." We'll circle the Lhamoyangtso Lake in front of the temple, then enter the temple to experience the profound Tibetan Buddhist culture.

Built into the hillside, the hotel features Tibetan watchtowers with distinct Kham style, scattered throughout the building, shaded by flowers and trees. 丨Take a light hike to Pudacuo/Experience the beauty of nature in the national park

After breakfast, we'll head to Pudacuo National Park, located in the heart of the Greater Shangri-La Scenic Area and a key component of the Three Parallel Rivers World Heritage Site. At the ticket office, we'll transfer to a scenic shuttle bus to explore the heart of Pudacuo. Scenic area staff will provide a brief overview of the scenery along the way. The approximately 20-minute drive will take us to Shudu Lake, the core area of ​​Pudacuo. We'll then hike along wooden plank paths through the tranquil plateau, offering breathtaking views of lakes, wetlands, forest meadows, river valleys, and rare flora and fauna. Pudacuo Park, while somewhat bleak in winter, offers a unique charm, and you'll even occasionally spot playful squirrels wandering right under your nose, a delightful surprise.


丨Farewell on the disbanding day/Looking forward to seeing you again

Today is the end of the tour. We will transfer you to Diqing Shangri-La Airport or Lijiang Sanyi International Airport according to your flight schedule. If you need to return to your home city from Lijiang on the same day, we recommend booking a flight after 5:00 PM. If you are staying in Lijiang, we will transfer you to your hotel.

Shangri-La-Diqing Shangri-La Airport is about 8 kilometers away, about 15 minutes;

Shangri-La-Lijiang Sanyi International Airport is approximately 210 kilometers away and takes about 3 hours.
