Wuxi Huishan Ancient Town | Climb Huishan, explore the ancient town, and enjoy a relaxing day outdoors

Day 1 Nanjing → Huishan → Ancient Town → Nanjing

07:15

From 07:15 to 07:30, we gathered and signed in at Exit 1 of Andemen Station on Nanjing Metro Line 1, where we saw the yellow China-TravelNote flag.

07:30

We got on the bus on time and set off. On the way, the team members played interactive games, laughed and talked all the way, and arrived at the destination unknowingly.

10:00

Arrive at the foot of Huishan Mountain, the starting point for the hike. Your team leader will lead you through warm-up exercises in an open area. Afterward, you'll ascend the mountain, enjoying the scenic scenery all the way to the summit of Sanmao Peak (329 meters above sea level). From the summit, you'll enjoy the breathtaking views of the "First Mountain of Jiangnan."

12:30

When we reached the top of the mountain, there was a small shop with supplies. We took a short break here and then had a lunch. After the lunch, we continued to Huishan Ancient Town.

Huishan Ancient Town is located at the foot of Xihui Mountain and on the bank of the Jiangnan Grand Canal. It is surrounded by Xiuzhang Street, Qinyuan Street and the upper and lower ponds on both sides of Sitangjing River. It is one of the first provincial historical and cultural blocks in Jiangsu Province, among which "Huishan Old Street" is a "Famous Historical and Cultural Street in China".

The second half of the route is a little easier, going down the mountain road with endless scenery. After arriving at the ancient town, we started shopping and eating, and everyone was free to move around.

4:00 PM

After returning to the designated gathering point, everyone boarded the bus back to Nanjing.

6:30 PM

When we returned to Nanjing, everyone was reluctant to leave and kissed goodbye with tears in their eyes, looking forward to reuniting at the next event.

Hailed by Emperor Qianlong as "the best mountain in Jiangnan," Huishan Mountain is geologically part of the remnant of Dongtianmu Mountain in northern Zhejiang, with its eastern end abutting the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. Its main ridge, with nine peaks stretching for over ten miles like a dragon, is also known as Jiulong Mountain. Its main peak, Sanmao Peak, stands at 328.98 meters, making it the second-oldest of the 72 peaks of Taihu Lake (the eldest, Piaomiao Peak on Dongting West Mountain, stands at 336 meters). Together with Xishan, Nanshan, Toumao Peak, Ermao Peak, Longshan, Lianhua Mountain, Tangshan, Zhangshan, and Chanshan, Huishan Mountain boasts a total of 18 peaks.
