Double Island Cycling · Changxing + Hengsha | Island Cycling, Chase the Wind!

Day 1 Shanghai → Changxing Island → Hengsha Island → Shanghai

07:30

Meet at the designated meeting point of China-TravelNote at 7:30

07:45

We set off for Changxing Island on time. Everyone was laughing and chatting along the way, and before we knew it, we arrived at Changxing Island, one of the three islands of Chongming.

09:30

Arriving at the Changxing Island Cycling Start Point, everyone will choose their own vehicle (please select this option when placing your order) and put on their helmets and protective gear. The tour leader will explain the cycling precautions and vehicle inspections. Once you've mastered the essentials, the cycling journey will begin!

We cycle along the North Beach of the Yangtze River, enjoying breathtaking sea views, rice paddies, windmills, and islands dotted with orange and fir trees. We'll also pass by the First Beach of the Yangtze River, enjoying the endless scenery along the way. (The entire journey is approximately 20 km and is expected to take 2 hours.)

11:30

At noon, we stopped at the bus station for a lunch break while waiting for the boat. We found a spot with a wide view, looked out at the sea, and shared our food with everyone. We could also find a small restaurant nearby to have a meal together.

13:00

We went to the pier to take the ferry, and rode our mounts across the river to Hengsha Island.

Continuing through the island's metasequoia forest, the view suddenly opens up. Looking northwest, the Changxing Island windmills and the Shanghai Yangtze River Bridge, which I had seen that morning, come into view. From here, you can take in the entire bridge and take photos. (The entire journey is approximately 30 km and is expected to take 3.5 hours.)

4:30 PM

Return to the starting point and take a boat from Hengsha back to Changxing Island.

5:00 PM

Ride to the starting point to return the vehicle, end a pleasant day, and get on the vehicle for the return journey.

7:30 PM

Back to Shanghai. Everyone was still reluctant to leave and kissed goodbye with tears in their eyes!!!

Driving time: about 1.5 hours

Hiking: The total mileage is about 50km
