08:30

We set off on time, and the leader explained the itinerary and precautions in the car. Of course, there were fun ice-breaking games, and there were laughter all the way.

10:00

Arriving at Gaoyao Bagua Village, after following the guide to learn about the general situation of the ancient village, you can start to walk freely through the streets and alleys to experience the essence of the Bagua graphics.

12:00

After exploring the ancient village, we boarded a bus and journeyed to a nearby town to sample Gaoyao rice noodle soup and its salty, thin dishes. Gaoyao rice noodle soup originates from the Qingtang region. First, glutinous rice flour is mixed with an appropriate amount of water to form a paste. Then, it is served in a specially made rice noodle bowl. The paste is quickly poured into boiling water through small holes in the bowl's bottom, forming round strips. Once cooked, remove the noodles with a sieve and soak in fresh water (commonly known as "passing the cold river").

1:15 PM

After lunch, we gathered in downtown Zhaoqing. Our team leader picked up our bikes and gave us a quick test ride before officially setting off on our 16-kilometer Xinghu Greenway, a path paved with peaks and surrounded by verdant waters. We rode along the trails, enjoying the fun and posing with our team. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon!

5:30 PM

We will return to the starting point in the evening and return the bus together. Those who arrive early can buy some Zhaoqing-style steamed rice dumplings. After everyone is gathered, we will take the bus back to Guangzhou. We will disband in Guangzhou around 20:30 and meet again next time.

Hiking: Greenway cycling distance: 16KM+, the road is flat and very easy to ride. Pay attention to traffic intersections and keep your belongings and bicycles safe.

Note: You can bring your own bicycle (it must be foldable or disassembled)

Bagua Ancient Village, located along the Zhaojiang Highway in Huilong Town, Gaoyao City, boasts a history of over 700 years. Its intricate layout, shaped like the Bagua, reveals the mysteries of the Luoshu and Hetu. The village, inspired by the eight basic figures (also known as the Bagua) from the I Ching, a crucial ancient Confucian text on the interplay of all things, is built atop a phoenix-shaped hill called Fenggang. Built into the hillside and surrounded by water, the houses are arranged in circular patterns, shaped like the hexagrams Qian, Kun, Zhen, Xun, Kan, Li, Gen, and Dui. These rows and circles of houses create a unique and enigmatic atmosphere. The village, shaped like a large enclosure, features houses and roads arranged in a Bagua-like pattern. Surrounding the village are a circular pond and a road. Accessible by land, the village boasts only two exits, north and south, embodying the quintessential characteristics of a Jiangnan water village.

Xinghu Greenway—Earned the title of China's Greenway for its unique ecological resources! Spanning 16 kilometers, the Xinghu Greenway connects Paifang Square, Bohai Park, Banyue Park, Banxi Park, and Qixingyan East Gate Square. Visitors can cycle or stroll through the mountains, rivers, and lakeside, feeling as if they were walking through a painting.

The Xinghu Scenic Area (Seven Star Rocks and Dinghu Mountain) has been renowned for its scenery since ancient times. Xinghu Lake, with its 530 hectares of water and seven towering peaks, resembles the Big Dipper. The lake is nestled among mountains, the mountains within caves, and the caves within rivers, creating a breathtaking spectacle. The breathtaking scenery of the lake and mountains has earned it the nickname "Wonder of Lingnan." The large "Oriental Zen Temple," built around Buddhist culture, has opened to the public, adding a new dimension to Qixing Rock's scenic beauty.
