10:30

Arrive at the starting point and start strolling around Huizhou West Lake.

Huizhou's West Lake is vast, with winding shores, dotted with islands, and surrounded by verdant mountains on three sides. Across the vast expanse, embankments and bridges divide the lake into five distinct sections, earning it the nickname "Five Lakes and Six Bridges." The renowned Northern Song Dynasty writer Su Dongpo praised Huizhou's "beautiful mountains and rivers." It is a renowned scenic spot and tourist destination in Guangdong.

12:00

Afterward, head to West Lake Pedestrian Street for some free time to eat (at your own expense). Enjoy a wide selection of Huizhou snacks, and don't miss out on a visit. Recommended establishments include Dongchang Restaurant, Renren Snacks, Shunkou Wonton Shop, and Zhuji Food Shop. You can also explore Shuidong Old Street and experience the old-fashioned atmosphere of Huizhou's arcades, Hejiang Tower, and Wenbi Tower.

1:30 PM

Arriving at Honghua Lake, pick up your favorite bike and begin your 18km journey around the lake. The winding mountain road winds along the lake, offering a chance to zip along at high speeds or pause for a rest. Enjoy this natural oxygen bar, let loose, and relax. (You'll need to push your bike up a hill at the rental shop at the foot of the mountain, and when returning it, you'll need to brake gently downhill. Please keep your speed low, safety first. Cycling helmets are provided free of charge.)

4:00 PM

We gathered at the right time and boarded the bus back home. We arrived in Guangzhou at around 19:30. We kissed goodbye with tears and promised to see each other next time.

The 18-kilometer Honghua Lake Greenway is Huizhou City's first demonstration ecological greenway and a branch of the Pearl River Delta Cultural and Leisure Greenway Route 3. Including connecting lines, it spans 34 kilometers and officially opened in June 2009. Lakeside greenway service facilities are located every three kilometers, totaling five service points and eight scenic rest areas. These include scenic spots, pavilions, stone benches, a convenience store, restrooms, a bicycle corridor, and an electric scooter pick-up and drop-off station. Service buildings are designed in the style of Lingnan folk houses, and leisure areas are strategically placed to reflect the terrain. For example, the Zuishui Pavilion, nestled by the water, offers a prime spot for appreciating the lake's sunset. The scenic spot also features a bicycle exhibition showcasing international cycling culture, showcasing cycling-related films and TV series, along with information on the history of cycling, international cycling culture, and cycling events. To enhance visitor enjoyment, the park offers a variety of activities, including morning exercise areas and chess tables for enthusiasts.

Compared to Hangzhou's West Lake, Huizhou's West Lake boasts a distinctly Lingnan style and is known as the city's heart. Comprising the "Five Lakes, Six Bridges, and Eight Scenic Spots," Pinghu Lake is the largest of the lakes, home to most of the city's key attractions. Along the embankment to the north, visitors can visit Fengzhu Garden, where the lotus blossoms are beautiful in summer. North of Pinghu Lake, Xiajiao East Road and Xiajiao Middle Road are Huizhou's oldest residential areas, lushly shaded by trees and popular with local residents.
