Day 2 Hua'ao Island → Jingaoyi Pier → Hangzhou

07:30-08:30 Farmhouse breakfast (due to limited resources on the island, early check-out is required on holidays)

08:30-10:00 Donghai Stone Forest (filming location of Black Myth: Wukong!)

We have received a notice that the Stone Forest Scenic Area will be closed from July 4th to July 9th for equipment maintenance. For groups traveling during these days, any unused adult tickets will be refunded. The itinerary will be adjusted based on the situation on that day. Please be advised!!!

Volcanoes, also known as "Earth's Acne," reveal the secrets of volcanoes in a small classroom

Why do volcanoes erupt? What are the different types of volcanic eruptions? How did the Stone Forest form?

Let's take a hike along the mountain and sea to see what the cobblestone beach looks like and why there are so many large four-sided and hexagonal pillars here.

The geological phenomena here are extremely magical. After the volcanic eruption, the magma produced a vertical fission under the conditions of uniform cooling and slow contraction, thus forming a unique landscape.

Let’s go to the Stone Forest to explore this great and magical natural landscape!

There weren't many people there in the morning. We went to collect stones and do the "Mani Pile" stone challenge on the large pebble beach. Let's take on the challenge together!

11:00-12:30 Visit the intangible cultural heritage salt field

Hua'ao Island preserves an original salt field from Xiangshan. Here, we can learn about: Why is seawater salty? How is seawater density measured? And the detection and hazards of saline-alkali soil...

1. Salt Culture Museum: Learn about the story behind salt through images

2. Under the guidance of salt farmers, go to the crystal clear salt fields and experience the steps of drying and harvesting salt

3. Collect salt and keep a bottle of salt in a small glass bottle as a souvenir

Salting Challenge

After understanding the principles of salt drying, are there any kids who want to try making salt at home?

Kind tips:

This is a salt field that operates normally. Drying salt depends on the weather. If it rains, the field needs to be covered with a tarp, so the salt drying experience is not possible. Therefore, the tour leader will flexibly adjust the order of the activities over the two days to ensure a smooth experience for everyone.

12:30-13:20 Lunch

·afternoon

13:30-14:00 The ferry arrives at [Jingaoyi Pier], and the bus is waiting for us. Get on the bus and prepare to return.

14:00-18:30 The bus returns to the meeting point. Everyone is reluctant to leave and hugs each other and says goodbye (at least one service area is arranged for rest)

Hiking: about 3.5 hours

Note: The tour leader will adjust the order of activities according to weather and tide conditions without reducing the number of activities. Please understand.

Q: What is the difference between 3 days and 2 days?

1. A 3-day itinerary is more relaxing, with a leisurely start after waking up, making it suitable for families with young children and plenty of time.

2. To make up for the lack of swimming and relatively basic accommodations on Huaao Island, stay in a hotel in Shipu for one night, where you can freely explore Shipu seafood and enjoy the Dongdan Beach.

3. The experience content of Huaao Island for 2 days and 3 days is the same, but the time for sightseeing is more sufficient and the itinerary is more relaxed.

Q: Is parking available at the pier?

There is a parking lot at the pier, where you can park for free. If you are not sure, you can drive. The ferry to the island costs an additional 30 yuan per car (round trip), but you basically don't need your own car on the island.

Q: Can children under five years old register?

The activity experience was completely fine, and the children had a blast. However, due to the length of the drive ( about four hours one way ), an age limit was imposed. If parents know their children well and there's no problem with this, they can sign up.

Q: Can I upgrade my accommodation on the island?

Because it is a pristine and undeveloped island, the farmhouses are relatively clean and sanitary. If you need to upgrade, please contact customer service for confirmation.

Q: Can I live on my own outside the island instead of staying on the island?

Activities are affected by the tides, so mudflat activities are limited to following the tides. This also involves pulling a trap the next day. We cannot guarantee that you will be able to experience all activities if you stay off the island. Also, the latest boat out of the island is at 5 PM.

Q: What is the general cost of meals that are not included?

You can either make your own meal or split the bill as a group. The typical meal price is NT$50 per person. Since supplies need to be purchased on the same day, the specific dishes will be determined based on the availability of the market.

Q: Is there anything special I need to prepare?

1. At least 2-3 sets of change of clothes

2. Slippers or sandals, both adults and children need them

3. Sun protection and mosquito prevention measures must be taken, and there are electric mosquito coils in the room

4. You can't swim on the mudflats of Hua'ao Island, but clothes will get dirty and difficult to wash. It is recommended to prepare some older clothes for your children.

During peak tourist season, with so many locals, it's inevitable that some things might be overlooked. If you have any complaints during your trip, please contact your tour leader immediately so they can help resolve the issue. We wish you a wonderful trip!

Hua'ao Island, located in Xiangshan County, is named for its abundance of flowers and bays. With its numerous bays and magnificent landscape, Hua'ao Island was the gathering place for Zhang Cangshui, a renowned anti-Qing general. Known as the "Fairyland of the Sea, the City of Yingzhou on Earth," Hua'ao Island boasts sheer cliffs and numerous rock pillars, known as the "Stone Forest." These formations range from towering to slanting. The sea-eroded landscape is truly unique in Southeast China: the magnificent Wanzhu Cliff and Linxian Island, the enigmatic caves, the majestic Dafotou Mountain, the mysterious seated statues of great men, the peculiar capes of various sizes, and the vibrantly colored pebbles paving the Qingshui'ao Beach create a tranquil and picturesque environment. The ruins of Zhang Cangshui's anti-Qing military camp add a layer of historical depth to Hua'ao Island.
