Breaking Wind 100: Two Lakes and One River | The fusion and collision of Dianshan Lake and Yuandang Lake!

Day 1 Shanghai → Qingpu → Dianshan Lake → Taipu River → Yuandang Lake → Shanghai

07:45

Everyone gathers at the designated address of China-TravelNote and signs in.

8:00 am departure time, the team leader introduced the itinerary, the team members introduced themselves, and there was laughter and joy along the way.

09:30

Go to the gathering point [Zhujiajiao Town], choose your favorite chariot, and have a group briefing on the activity schedule and cycling precautions, then get ready to embark on this wind-breaking journey!

We drove along National Highway G318, a famous pilgrimage route that runs east-west through China, along the mysterious 30th parallel north. Shortly after setting off, we encountered our first check-in point—Oriental Green Boat—where we took our first group photo! Next, we'd ride from Baoguo Temple onto the lakeside greenway, along the Taipu River, past lush greenery. Amidst this breathtaking scenery, time seemed to stretch infinitely.

11:00

We arrived at Kanazawa Town and found a scenic spot for a picnic. The view made our food even more delicious.

12:00

After a satisfying meal, we set off on our cycling trip. We continued our journey along Yuandang Lake. Unlike the famous Dianshan Lake, Yuandang Lake is more like a hidden gem hidden in the inner boudoir, shyly waiting for us to unveil its mysterious veil.

After circling Yuandang Lake, we will arrive at the second lake - Dianshan Lake. Dianshan Lake is known as the "Shanghai West Lake" and is the largest lake in Shanghai. The lake surface is sometimes rippling and sometimes as calm as a mirror. It is unpredictable and fascinating.

5:30 PM

We arrived at the end along Dianshan Lake, where we could watch the sunset and take beautiful photos at the check-in point!

7:00 PM

After everyone gathered, we prepared to return. Returning to the starting point, everyone was still reluctant to leave and kissed goodbye with tears in their eyes.

Driving time: Shanghai-Qingpu: 1.5 hours

Hiking: The entire journey is about 100km, which takes about 5-6 hours.

  1. 1.Why didn’t I receive a text message notification after registering?

    2. What if it rains during the event?

2-3 days before the event, we will decide whether the event will proceed as scheduled based on the weather forecast and route conditions. Please pay attention to our notifications. Most outdoor activities can proceed as usual even with light rain. Rainy days also have their own fun. If heavy rain is forecast, the event will be cancelled and a full refund will be given to everyone.

    3. Is this route crowded?

Most of our routes are natural and niche, with relatively small traffic. Of course, it also depends on the registration situation for each period. Generally, ordinary models are 37-seat buses, and there are also large models with 53 seats. Each car has a certain proportion of tour leaders to ensure the quality of the event.

    4. The event shows that the quota is temporarily full. What does "substitute" mean?

1. Dianshan Lake: Located at the junction of Qingpu District, Shanghai, and Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, Dianshan Lake covers a total area of 62-63 square kilometers and is Shanghai's largest freshwater lake. Dianshan Lake is the source of the Huangpu River, Shanghai's mother river. Water from the Wujiang area of Taihu Lake flows upstream, entering the lake through 24 rivers and tributaries, including Jishuigang, Dazhushe, and Baishifan. It then flows through Lanlugang, the Dongxishao River, and Xietang before flowing into the Huangpu River.

2. Yuandang Lake: Connecting Jiangsu and Shanghai, one-fifth of the lake belongs to Shanghai's Qingpu District and four-fifths to Suzhou's Wujiang District. On the first anniversary of the Yangtze River Delta Integrated Development Demonstration Zone, construction of the pilot section of the Yuandang ecological shoreline was completed, coinciding with the creation of the zone's first slow-moving bridge.

3. Taipu River: The Taipu River is one of the largest artificial waterways in the Taihu Lake Basin and serves as the main channel for flood discharge from Taihu Lake to the east. It is 57.2 kilometers long and flows through 15 towns in two provinces and one city, namely Wujiang, Jiangsu, Jiashan, Zhejiang, and Qingpu, Shanghai. The section in Shanghai is 15.24 kilometers long. Because it connects Taihu Lake and the Huangpu River, it is named Taipu River after its starting and ending points.
