Explore the Central Axis and Explore Jingshan, the Imperial City, at Night

Day 1: Self-guided tour + Northeast corner tower of the Forbidden City

5:30 PM

Night Exploration of Imperial City Jingshan Park

We will gather at 17:30 in the evening and 18:00 in the summer at the east entrance of Jingshan Front Street - the northeast corner of the moat (you can see the northeast corner tower). Prepare comfortable shoes and bring your curiosity to learn about Beijing's planning, and start our night exploration of the imperial city.

[Corner Tower] Take photos and check in here. The corner tower is very beautiful under the night view. Observe the architecture of the corner tower and learn about it.

[Shenwu Gate] Shenwu Gate is the north gate of the Forbidden City. As the back gate of the Forbidden City, it is also the main building on the central axis of Beijing. Let’s go and take a look and learn about it!

Jingshan Park: Jingshan, the geometric center of Beijing's inner city during the Ming and Qing dynasties, offers a breathtaking view of the city's grandeur and the beauty of its mountains and rivers. Its changing names, "Wansui Hill," "Meishan Hill," "Qingshan Hill," and "Zhenshan Hill," reflect Jingshan's rich history and cultural heritage. On a cozy autumn evening, we followed our guide up to the Wanchun Pavilion on Jingshan. From here, we could gaze upon the Forbidden City to the south, the Drum Tower to the north, and Beihai Lake to the west. The nightscape of the Imperial City unfolded before our eyes. Do you understand Beijing's architectural design? What factors influenced it? What historical stories and folk tales are there? Let's learn about it with our children while we digest our food after lunch!

The event is scheduled to end at 19:30/20:00 in summer, and everyone can browse and visit freely!

Note: The lighting conditions of the scenic spots are subject to change according to the actual situation. We hope that tourists will understand this.

Jingshan Park, nestled at the center of Beijing's north-south central axis, borders the Forbidden City to the south, Beihai Lake to the west, and faces the Drum Tower to the north. It was once the highest point in central Beijing. The park boasts towering ancient trees, striking peaks, majestic temples, a diverse array of peonies, and a vibrant cultural scene. Wanchun Pavilion, renowned as the commanding height on Beijing's central axis, offers panoramic views of the Forbidden City and the city's axis.
