Most of the existing buildings date back to the 28th year of the Wanli Period of the Ming Dynasty, a period spanning over 400 years. With its rich history and grand scale, it enjoys the lofty status of "the ancestral home of Taoism in Laoshan, China" and "the second largest Taoist monastery in the world."
There are ancient and famous trees such as Han cypress, Tang cypress, Tang elm, and wintergreen here.
