Arrive at Manghe Grand Canyon at about 10:30, walk about 1 km, and start tracing the river

From the parking lot to Siping Reservoir, you will cross several rivers along the way (you will get your shoes wet as you will have to wade through water several times)

Siwei Reservoir, also known as Siping Reservoir, is located in Jiyuan City, Henan Province. It is famous for its beautiful natural scenery and is praised by some tourists as the "Jiuzhaigou of Jiyuan".

The Sixe Reservoir is surrounded by green mountains, with rippling clear water and a mirror-like surface. Whether it is the mist in the morning light or the afterglow in the sunset, it gives this place endless beauty and tranquility.

The lake area changes with each season, with spring, summer, autumn and winter each offering its own unique charm. The enchanting scenery will leave you wanting to linger. Here we played in the water, swam (bring your own companions), and took in the beautiful waterfalls.

Go uphill through a wall to the upper reaches of the waterfall;

Siping Reservoir: A tranquil blue, like a pearl inlaid in the earth.

Here, you can feel the wonders of nature, listen to the melodious melody of waves lapping against the shore, and enjoy the peace and tranquility away from the hustle and bustle.

At noon, everyone will eat in the shade (you need to take the meal with you, no supplies), and share the meal. This is a niche attraction with not many tourists, so please be sure to protect the environment and take away the trash.

In the afternoon, you can continue playing in the water or walk along the forest trail to explore the ruins of the ancient village; the walls made of piled earth seem to tell the traces of the rapid passage of time.

At about 16:30 in the afternoon, we started our return journey

The entire hike is about 6-7 kilometers, which is a leisurely water route with less elevation gain.

Arrived in Zhengzhou around 18:30 and kissed goodbye with tears

Special reminder: Due to the total hiking distance of 16-18 kilometers through Kulong Mountain, wading through 83 rivers, and the traffic congestion at the destination, it is difficult to get through on weekends. Therefore, this route does not cross Kulong Mountain for the time being;

In the future, we will build a river crossing route with strong donkeys (only strong donkeys are accepted). This route is a leisure water play route (suitable for leisure water play, parent-child travel, etc.).

Driving time: 2 hours

Hiking: 6-7 km, 100m elevation gain, leisure line

Note: None

The Manghe Grand Canyon originates from Manghe Village in Yangcheng County, Shanxi Province. It stretches for more than 20 kilometers along the winding river valley to the Manghekou in Jiyuan City, Henan Province. It is the mother river of the Jiyuan people. The Manghe Canyon consists of three relatively large canyons. The main river channel has almost no slope. Cliffs, gullies and dangerous peaks can be seen everywhere along the way. The scenery is unique. There are towering ancient trees in the mountains, many rare tree species, rich species of Chinese medicinal materials, and more precious animals such as leopards and macaques traveling through the forest. The Manghe River is named after the python. According to legend, the river was larger in ancient times. A big python controlled the river channel and often changed into wood floating in the river. People thought it was wood and went into the river to fish it out. The python opened its big mouth and ate people. It is unknown how many lives it killed. This is an ancient legend.

In summer, the water of Siping Reservoir at Manghekou in Jiyuan overflows the dam and rushes down with great momentum. It is known as the "Jiyuan Branch Waterfall" of Huangguoshu Waterfall. Climbing to a high place and looking far into the distance, you can see the mountains, rivers and waterfalls. It is like being in a paradise. Especially in the rainy season, the water flow of the waterfall will be even greater.
