Day 3: Taozi Mountain → Summit of the Three Gorges → Dangerous Stone Bird Path → Poetic Plank Road → Baidi City → Wushan

·morning

Hiking to the summit of the Three Gorges

Today we will walk down the mountain along the trail, which is the core area of the "Top of the Three Gorges". We will walk through the dangerous rock bird path and come to the poetic plank road. It can be said that every step is a scene, and we will appreciate the magnificence of the Yangtze River along the way. We will also pass by several viewing platforms. Tourists can stop for a while and appreciate the beautiful mountains and rivers of our motherland.

For lunch, remember to prepare delicious food for yourself in advance!

·afternoon

In the afternoon, we'll approach the riverbank and the hills behind Baidi City. Along the way, we'll encounter numerous wild monkeys (a friendly reminder: please do not feed or tease the monkeys, as they may steal or injure you). As we journey through magnificent scenery, we might even hear their cries. Gazing at the boats on the river, we'll finally understand the sentiment expressed by Li Bai when he wrote, "The monkeys on both sides of the river cry incessantly, while the light boat has already passed through ten thousand mountains."
In the afternoon
, we'll descend and enjoy a panoramic view of Kuimen from the observation deck. Remember to bring a fifth-edition 10-yuan RMB note, as this is the background image. Kuimen is the western gate of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. At the entrance to Qutang Gorge, it stands like a massive sluice gate towering over the river. Du Fu wrote, "Baidi, high and mighty, guards the Three Gorges; Qutang, perilous and dangerous, surpasses Bailao Pass."

Then we took a ferry to the Baidi City Scenic Area, climbed up the Baidi Temple, and visited the scene of Yong'an entrusting his son to his parents. From here, we could also overlook Kuimen.

·night

After the tour, we went to Wushan and checked into the hotel.

Driving distance: short

Hiking: The hike is about 15 km and takes about 7 hours. The roads are mostly stone slabs, dirt roads, and steps. The roads in Baidicheng Scenic Area are steps and paved roads.

Day 4 Wushan Pier → → Bluestone Signal Tower → Goddess Sky Road → Wushan Disbandment

·morning

After breakfast, we will go to Wushan Wharf and take a boat to the Qingshi Signal Tower. Across the river is the Goddess Peak. We will hike along the Goddess Sky Road and admire the vastness of Wu Gorge. From here, we can overlook the Goddess Peak. Legend has it that it was the thirteenth daughter of the Queen Mother of the West. She was attracted by the beautiful scenery of Wu Gorge and also to protect local people from floods, so she turned into a mountain.

·afternoon

We'll hike to the entrance of the Goddess Heavenly Road scenic area and be taken to Wushan High-Speed Railway Station. We'll be reluctant to leave and share a tearful goodbye!
We recommend booking a high-speed train after 6:00 PM.

Hiking: The hike is about 9 km, which takes about 3-4 hours. The road surface is mostly stone slabs, dirt roads, and steps.

Q: Can I bring luggage with me on the Three Gorges Hiking Route? Where can I leave my luggage?
A: The entire trip lasts three nights. Two nights, the bus will drive directly to the hotel. On the third night, at Qingshi Village, the bus won't reach you. You'll need to carry your toiletries to your accommodation. Any extra luggage can be stored on the bus. We'll be on the same bus for the entire trip.

Q: What if it rains?
A: As long as it's not a downpour, the itinerary is fine. Please bring your own raincoat. During the misty autumn rain, the clouds swirling over Wu Gorge are truly spectacular. As we hiked the Three Gorges Gallery and looked down at Wu Gorge from above, we completely understood the sentiment of the poet Yuan Zhen when he wrote, "Except for Wushan, there are no clouds!"

Q: Is the hiking trail in the Three Gorges easy to walk on?

A: Most of the hiking trails have been repaired and are mainly paved with stone slabs and steps. This has greatly reduced the difficulty of hiking. So it is relatively easy to walk.

The Yangtze River Three Gorges, located in the heart of China, collectively refer to the Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge, and Xiling Gorge. Stretching from Baidicheng in Fengjie County, Chongqing in the west to Nanjinguan in Yichang City, Hubei in the east, the 193-kilometer-long Three Gorges stretches across Fengjie County, Chongqing, Wushan County, Chongqing, Badong County, Hubei, Zigui County, Hubei, and Yichang City, Hubei. This is often referred to as the "Great Three Gorges."

Kuimen: Nestled between towering mountains and a majestic river, beneath the majestic Baidi City, Kuimen is the Yangtze River's gateway from the Sichuan Basin into the Three Gorges. The peaks flanking Kuimen, known as Baiyan Mountain in the south and Chijia Mountain in the north, rise dramatically from the ground, towering into the clouds. On either side of the river, sheer cliffs appear as if cut off from the earth, like a gateway fortified by nature. Facing each other across the river, one clad in red, the other in white, a truly remarkable sight. The steep cliffs facing the river, though barren of vegetation, each radiate a unique hue. These hues interplay with the morning glow, evening glow, and bright moonlight, creating such captivating scenes as "Chijia Clear Glow," "White Salt Dawn," and "Kuimen Autumn Moon."
