We followed the ancient trail to the summit, where a pavilion stood. In front of the pavilion lay a large valley, embracing the Xiamu Mountain Reservoir, fed by mountain spring water. To the west of Wanshou Pavilion stood the thirteen-story Jinling Thousand Buddha Pagoda. Down the slope to the north lay Yunlin Zen Temple, and to the east, Gucheng was visible. We paused here for a short rest before continuing our journey. Descending along the ancient trail, the mountain twisted and turned, lush trees filled the air, and birdsong filled the forest. Soon, we reached the winding mountain road, where endless tea fields stretched before us. After about 20 minutes of winding along the road, we entered the fascinating bamboo forest hiking section. Time flies when walking through the bamboo forest paths.
3:00 PM
Drive to Nanxun Ancient Town, nestled in the heart of the beautiful and fertile Hangzhou-Jiaxing-Huzhou Plain. Known as the "cover of the six Jiangnan ancient towns," Nanxun boasts a rich cultural heritage and is a well-preserved example of the "Six Jiangnan Ancient Towns." It's the only national 5A-level scenic spot in Huzhou City and one of the earliest Jiangnan ancient towns in China to be inscribed on the World Cultural Heritage List. Some say, "All ancient towns are the same, but Nanxun is very different." Find out what makes it so special!
