Q: Are there any requirements for applicants?

Answer: 7-65 years old (age limit can be relaxed according to physical condition and previous high-altitude experience); no adverse diseases; a big data itinerary code without asterisks + Sichuan Tianfu Health Pass green code is required to check in on the mountain.

Q: What's the camp's altitude? What's the temperature difference between morning and night? Will I experience altitude sickness?

A: At 3,600 meters above sea level, daytime temperatures are around 10 degrees Celsius and nighttime temperatures can drop below zero. Be careful to dress warmly and avoid the elements. Generally speaking, at this altitude, altitude sickness is unlikely unless you catch a cold. For reference, consider Mount Emei in Sichuan. If you've experienced severe altitude sickness at Jinding, Niubei Mountain is not recommended.

Q: Is there heating in the room?

Answer: There is an electric heater and an electric blanket on the bed, but no air conditioning.

Q: Does the campground have water and electricity? Is there cell phone service? Are there restrooms?

A: The campsite has water, electricity, mobile phone reception, public restrooms, and a washing area. The tents also have private bathrooms, meeting basic washing and toileting needs. (Showering, hair washing, and foot washing are not permitted for the time being.)

Q: What is the food and beverage situation at the camp?

A: The campsite has a restaurant. Chinese breakfast is available: porridge, eggs, milk, and grains (included in the room rate). Lunch and dinner options include yak soup pot (100 yuan per person) and Chinese stir-fry dishes (charges based on ordering).

Q: Is it safe to drive up the mountain? Do I need to bring snow chains when driving up the mountain in winter?

A: Currently, self-driving access is limited to the designated parking area at Niubei Mountain (Pangou Visitor Center). From there, you'll need to transfer to two sightseeing buses to reach the summit (a total journey of approximately two hours). The road is paved and in good condition. Please be mindful of speed control and slow down around curves. Snow chains are not necessary on this road, as there's no hidden ice. Before setting off, be sure to inspect your vehicle, including tire wear and ensuring it still has grip.
