All day

After checking out in the morning, head to Huguang Rock

This is a volcanic geological park with a history of 160,000 years and is also home to China's only Maar Lake. With its unique volcanic landforms and beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains, you can also see a variety of tropical plants and experience the tropical atmosphere.

Then we went to Zhanjiang Southeast Pier and took a ferry to land on Naozhou Island

Naozhou Island, China's largest volcanic island, was formed by an underwater volcanic eruption approximately 200,000 to 500,000 years ago. It is one of the "Eight Scenic Spots of Zhanjiang," known as "Nozhou's Ancient Charm." Located off the coast of Zhanjiang City, it boasts beautiful scenery and a pleasant climate year-round. It boasts unique volcanic rock formations, fishing villages and ports, beaches with coconut groves, and vast dragon fruit and banana groves...a pristine, untouched island untouched by overdevelopment.

After arriving on the island, we headed to the Ganzhou Lighthouse

This is one of the three largest lighthouses in the world! The crystal-polished mirror lighthouse looks very cool. Many locals sell fruit around the lighthouse. We especially recommend the small bananas and red dragon fruit, which are very affordable.

We had lunch here to sample the island's delicacies.

Then we went to Nayan Bay, where there is a clean beach and the Turtle City Rescue Station. We can see various Chinese horseshoe crabs, green turtles and hawksbill turtles here, and we can get close to the cute turtles.

Led by the locals, we brought buckets, pliers, and gloves and set out to experience the sea, looking for surprises under the rocks on the beach, prying oysters, digging shells, and picking starfish.

Staying at a hotel on the island at night, away from the influence of city lights, the starry sky here is also worth waiting for the arrival of the stars.

Driving time: Zhanjiang to Naozhou Island, about 1.5 hours

Day 3 Zhanjiang → Leizhou

All day

After checking out in the morning, we took a ferry off the island to Leizhou City to experience the unique Leizhou culture and learn the encrypted Leizhou dialect from the guide.

We visited the Leizhou Museum

The unique stone dog culture of this museum is not only deeply rooted in the folk beliefs of the Leizhou area, but also carries a profound historical heritage. Under the museum's meticulous display, the stone dogs come alive, as if telling a thousand-year-old story.

After lunch we headed to the Leizu Temple

The Leizhou Leizu Temple is a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Site. Originally built in the 16th year of the Zhenguan reign of the Tang Dynasty (642 AD), it commemorates Chen Wenyu, the first governor of Leizhou during that period. The temple is the birthplace and center of Leizhou's Lei culture, and grand ceremonies are held annually to honor the deity.

Visit Maodegong Drum City

Known for its red brick architecture and Lingnan style, it resembles a film studio, perfect for both photography and videography. This antique-style building, themed around Leizhou drum culture, draws inspiration from the ancient Leizhou city walls. Not only is this place steeped in drum culture, but it also incorporates graffiti murals from the Three Kingdoms period, showcasing its rich historical and cultural heritage. It's like stepping back in time to the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty, experiencing the freedom and prosperity of that era.

We will stay in Leizhou City tonight and enjoy the delicious food of Leizhou.

Driving time: Naozhou Island - Leizhou, about 1 hour

Day 4 Leizhou → Sea of Pineapples → Antarctic Village → Xuwen

All day

Check out in the morning and head to the "Hometown of Pineapples in China"

Delve into the sea of pineapples and experience the pineapple sea. We can witness the pineapple picking process. Known as the "flower fields of Hokkaido" and the "pastoral landscape of Europe," the endless pineapple fields stretch as far as the eye can see, their graceful curves stretching to the horizon. The pineapple orchards are vibrant with color year-round, and together with the small villages and massive windmills scattered throughout the fields, they create a uniquely captivating tropical agricultural landscape.

After lunch we headed to Fangpo Village

The waters here are home to a large, diverse, and well-preserved coral reef complex in the shallow waters of the Chinese continental shelf. Learn about coral conservation at the local coral aquarium, where you'll find corals shaped like flowers and trees.

The exterior walls of the houses of the villagers in Fangpo Village are made of coral. The walls have natural holes, which make them warm in winter and cool in summer. They are "breathing houses", which is also a local feature.

In the evening we headed to Antarctica Village, the southernmost tip of the continental shelf.

Antarctic Village is perfect for a leisurely stroll, enjoying the art inn and the lighthouse library. Of course, we couldn't miss the chance to see the Antarctic Village's waterline phenomenon. Here, we waited for the sunset at the southernmost tip of the continent.
