We set off on time, no one will be late (everyone must eat breakfast). The leader of the bus organized the children to introduce themselves, show their talents, play team games, etc. There was laughter and joy along the way. We were so happy~ Heading to our destination today - Fengqi Mountain

10:00

Wild and Light Apprentice (Kangdao-Huilongguan-Guangyan Zen Temple)

After the team leader led everyone in warm-up activities, we started today's light hike, a small loop of about 5km

The first section: Kangdao to Huilongyuan, which is generally flat with more flat roads.
The second section: Huilongyuan to Guangyan Temple, is mainly climbing with many steps. It takes about 40 minutes to climb continuously to the highest point, where you reach the altitude stone tablet. From here it is a downhill road, and it is not long before you reach Guangyan Temple.

Going down the mountain: It is suitable for people with good physical strength and ample time. You can choose to return by the original route or walk down the mountain along the road. It takes about an hour. There are cars passing along the way, so you need to pay attention to safety. The scenery along the way is nice. If you can't walk, you can choose Guangyan Zen Temple and take the yellow bus down the mountain (2 yuan/person, you can use Tianfutong). It takes about 10 minutes. If you are not in good physical condition, it is recommended to take the bus down the mountain.

Covered in thousands of acres of pristine forest, towering ancient nanmu and ginkgo trees block out the sun, the mountain is a natural oxygen bar near Chengdu. Hiking along Kangdao Road, where stone paths wind through the forest, gurgling streams and birdsong fill the quiet mountains, offers a refreshing escape in summer and a vibrant riot of color in autumn, creating a breathtaking scenery every season. Further afield, discover the ancient temple, built during the Jin Dynasty. Tucked away deep within Fengqi Mountain, its yellow walls and black tiles create a striking contrast against the ancient trees. The temple houses the only copy of the Ming Dynasty's "Hongwu Nanzang," a treasure of Buddhist culture. Bring your children to the summit for a prayer and a immersive experience of history and nature.

2:30 PM

Jiezi Ancient Town

After descending the mountain, we headed to Jiezi Ancient Town, located at the foot of Fengqi Mountain in Chongzhou, Chengdu, and connected to the back mountains of Qingcheng. This ancient town boasts a thousand-year history in western Sichuan. Nestled between mountains and rivers, it evokes a tranquil and ancient charm, boasting white-tiled Ming and Qing dynasty architecture, a natural landscape weaving together primeval forests and streams. Furthermore, it is imbued with poetic charm as the hometown of Tang Qiu, a renowned Tang Dynasty poet. Stroll through a street of ancient buildings from the late Qing and early Republican eras, sip gaiwan tea in an old teahouse, watch artisans at work in a handcrafted woodcarving workshop, and sample sesame cakes and yelping cakes from street vendors, immersing yourself in the relaxed and lively atmosphere of this "orchid-producing land."

4:30 PM

After packing up, we started our return journey with full of memories.

6:00 PM

Arriving in Chengdu, we disbanded at the Tongyi Cultural Palace and waved goodbye to our new friends. We began to accumulate thoughts for the next season (traffic may be congested during holidays, so the arrival time is for reference only).

Note:

1. Please prepare sweat towels and easy-to-put-on/off clothes for your children according to the weather. It is windy on the mountain and they will sweat easily when running (please bring your own according to the weather)

2. Promote leaving no trace in the mountains. Please take your own garbage down the mountain. Let me be a little guardian of the environment.

3. The whole route has stone steps (many) and wooden plank roads. Please be careful when registering if you mind.

4. There are supply stalls along the way, and a feast of delicious food in the ancient town, so you can skip the guide meals.

Driving time: 1.5 hours

Hiking: about 5km, the highest altitude is 916 meters
