Pudong Longyang Zoumagang | Encounter a primitive fairytale secret land and overlook the Kuaiji Mountains

Day 1 Shanghai → Huangkeng Village → Zoumagang → Shanghai

All day

Meet at the designated China-TravelNote location between 7:00-7:15 and sign in. Depart at 7:15 sharp, enjoy onboard interaction and itinerary briefings, and have fun all the way!

We arrived at the Zhuji mountain entrance village around 10:30, and after a quick tidy up, we started today’s hike!

Winding up the stone steps, you'll be accompanied by mountain streams and waterfalls, passing through a fairytale-like thousand-year-old Torreya grandis forest and a small wooden bridge before entering a wild road. Don't rush to check in and take photos, this is just the entrance to the "fairyland"!

The climb up the mountain is quite intense and requires a certain level of physical strength. If you feel unwell, do not force yourself to follow the leader's instructions to descend.

We arrived at the top of the mountain around 12:00, went up and down along the way, checked in and took photos at the popular rock, and felt the pleasure of looking down on all the other mountains.

Around 14:00, we started to go down the mountain. The road down the mountain has a certain slope and strength, so you can bring trekking poles to assist. When walking in rainy days, pay attention to some sections of the road as they are muddy and be careful not to slip.

Around 16:30, we walked out of the mountains and returned to the foot of the mountain where we came from.

We returned to downtown Shanghai around 20:00. Everyone was still reluctant to leave and said goodbye with tears in their eyes!!

Driving time: Shanghai to Zhuji, about 3.5 hours

Hiking: Today's hike is a 7km mountain road plus a 3km winding road leading into the village, with a total ascent of about 550 meters. The climbing intensity is slightly high and requires a certain level of physical strength.

Note: If you have trekking poles, bring them with you. If the road downhill is muddy due to rain, you should bring an extra set of pantyhose in case you slip.

1.Why didn’t I receive a text message notification after registering?

2. What if it rains during the event?

2-3 days before the event, we will decide whether the event will proceed as scheduled based on the weather forecast and route conditions. Please pay attention to our notifications. Most activities can proceed as usual even if there is light rain. There is still fun to be had on rainy days. If heavy rain is forecast, the event will be cancelled and a full refund will be given to everyone.

3. Is this route crowded?

Most of our routes are natural and niche, with relatively small traffic. Of course, it also depends on the registration situation for each period. Generally, ordinary models are 37-seat buses, and a few large models are 53-seat. Each car has a certain proportion of tour leaders to ensure the quality of the event.

Zoumagang, nestled within Torreya grandis National Forest Park, lies at the junction of Zhuji's Zhaojia, Dongbaihu, Donghe, and Shengzhou districts, in the central section of the Kuaiji Mountains. The mountain range boasts a towering peak, its majestic main peak at 835 meters, the second highest in the Kuaiji Mountains. Known as the "ancestor of the mountains east of the city," it is said to have been named after King Goujian of Yue, who once trained his troops there. Zoumagang is divided into two branches, the Inner Zoumagang and the Outer Zoumagang. The Outer Zoumagang, southeast of Jiangxia Village, boasts undulating rock formations and verdant peaks, earning it the nickname "Saw Mountain." Looking up from the foot of the mountain, peaks rise towards the sky, their momentum resembling galloping horses.
