We arrived at Shangwanggang Village, the starting point for the hike. This 8-kilometer loop, nestled in the northern foothills of Siming Mountain, offers a natural backdrop of emerald streams and thousands of lush bamboos. Descending the Shangwanggang Ancient Trail, we pass the Wulongtan Waterfall, a white silk ribbon cascading down from the sky. We then weave along the clear Bailongtan Stream, stepping on mossy flagstones amidst wildflowers, the 20°C breeze swirling with mist.

Halfway through the trail, the path is filled with gurgling streams, a truly delightful experience. The majestic Wulongtan and the graceful Bailongtan create a natural contrast. During the flood season, you can enjoy the creeks, while during the dry season, the rocky beaches reveal a Zen-like atmosphere. Halfway through, you'll find yourself in a secret bamboo forest, where fallen bamboo and vines intertwine to create a pristine gallery. The occasional chameleon flitted by, creating a sense of time travel amidst the surging greenery.
