Arrive at Jinjiangli, Kaiping. Jinjiangli is a village meticulously planned and established by the Huang family during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty.

The three exquisite watchtowers are the most eye-catching in Jinjiangli.

Ruishi Tower, built in 1923, is 9 stories high. It is the watchtower with the most stories and the highest artistic value in Kaiping. It combines various Western architectural styles with traditional Lingnan characteristics and enjoys the reputation of "the best watchtower in Kaiping".

Jinjiang Tower, built in 1918, is the earliest watchtower in the village. It was built with funds raised by villagers and is famous for its simple and practical design and powerful defensive functions.

Shengfeng Building, built in 1919 and designed by a French architect, is not only luxurious in appearance but also complex in structure, and it well embodies the integration of Chinese and Western cultures.

12:30

We then headed to the town of Cingang for lunch, where the clay pot rice was very special.

2:00 PM

After lunch, we went to the old market of Xingang Town for a short city walk to experience the former prosperity of the old arcade street.

Located in the southwest of Kaiping City, the Xinggang Market is known for its historical significance. Records indicate that in 1381, the 14th year of the Hongwu reign of the Ming Dynasty, Xinhui County established a post station in Xinggang, employing a postmaster. By the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty, a regular market had already taken place, held on the fourth and ninth days of each lunar month. During the Republican era, the market was redeveloped into a street market with arcades. Nearly a century later, the area has become a forgotten streetscape. Its authentic arcades, deserted shops, overgrown vegetation, and ruin-like atmosphere have made it a popular filming location, with numerous television series, including "The Storm" and "Zero," having been filmed there.

3:00 PM

Go to the Pioneer World Granary Bookstore, which consists of five yurt-shaped granaries and a glass coffee house. It was once a barn where residents of Tangkou Town, Kaiping, stored grain in the 1970s.
