If you are traveling to Hebei, you will need to bring your ID card to pass the checkpoint. The journey is long and prone to delays due to checkpoint congestion. Return times are unreliable and may be delayed. Please carefully assess this risk and report any concerns with caution.

Cangzhou

Located in southeastern Hebei Province, Cangzhou is traversed by the Grand Canal. Historically, Cangzhou prospered thanks to canal transport, becoming a renowned martial arts hub (such as Cangzhou martial arts and Wuqiao acrobatics) and a major industrial center. The city blends canal culture, industrial heritage, and unique cuisine. Signature landmarks include the Cangzhou Iron Lion (the city's symbol) and the remains of the Dahua Industrial Park.

Located within the Cangzhou Garden Expo Park, the China Grand Canal Intangible Cultural Heritage Exhibition Hall
boasts a total floor area of 31,000 square meters, including 15,900 square meters of exhibition space. It is the largest integrated display of intangible cultural heritage along the Grand Canal. The exhibition hall showcases 1,022 intangible cultural heritage items from eight provinces and municipalities along the Grand Canal, including 19 items of human intangible cultural heritage (such as Peking Opera and Kunqu Opera) and 370 items (such as Suzhou embroidery and clay figurine artist Zhang). The three-story exhibition hall features an overview hall, a lifestyle aesthetics exhibition, and a digital experience center, showcasing the canal's culture through physical objects, multimedia, and interactive installations.

Cangzhou Hot Pot Chicken

Originating in the 1990s, this spicy Sichuan hotpot is a twist on chicken. The main ingredients are chicken thighs and wings, stir-fried and stewed with Pixian fermented bean paste, Sichuan peppercorns, chili peppers, and angelica root, resulting in a spicy, savory flavor. It's served with a garlic vinegar dipping sauce, with the meat eaten first and the vegetables (potatoes, winter melon, etc.) added later. Handmade pulled noodles are often served as a main course. Due to its affordable price (a small portion is around 60 yuan), it has become a local specialty and a restaurant staple.
