Arrive at the ancient city of Anju, known as a place of nostalgia, where "mountains and water are visible." This is the only ancient town in Chongqing that can be called a "city"—Tongliang's "Anju Ancient Town." Nestled between mountains and water, where the Qiong and Fu Rivers converge, the ancient town's millennia of history are etched into its ancient streets and alleys. Winding ancient alleys and charming stilt houses offer a tranquil escape from the clamor of street vendors. Buildings reflected in the water, and the constant flow of pleasure boats, speak of a peaceful, tranquil existence. Experience the unique charm of this ancient city and soak in the charm of its traditional culture. Here, scenes recreated depict the ancient Anju County Magistrate conducting patrols and solving cases. The Huguang Guild Hall offers performances such as gaiwan tea, traditional opera, and Sichuan opera face-changing. During holidays, folk performances such as Confucius worship, fire dragon dances, and water dragon dances are also offered, all maintaining their pristine natural beauty.
Here, you can admire the quaint attic buildings, discover authentic local delicacies hidden in the alleyways, capture the beauty of the ancient city, and capture your own stunning image. See the relics of the Ming and Qing dynasties and experience the millennia-old cultural heritage. Enjoy Kejiafang's stone-ground tofu, glutinous rice cakes, guokui (rice cakes), chongchong cakes, and triangular cakes, ensuring you enjoy a delightful meal.
