Sailimu Lake in Xinjiang, 2024.

My father grew up in Xinjiang, and my relatives are also in Xinjiang, so I have been to Xinjiang many times since I was a child. This is the first time I have come to Xinjiang for a proper trip! I spent more than half a month traveling around northern Xinjiang during the summer vacation! If there is any disadvantage of Xinjiang, it is... it is far!! We drove from my aunt's home in Urumqi with our baby. The tour route: Urumqi (Grand Bazaar) → Karamay (business) → Altay (Kanas) → Karamay (transit and rest) → Sailimu Lake → Xiata → Nalati → Duku Highway (I personally prefer Yizhao Highway, which is more dangerous and spectacular). The scenic spots are really far from each other, at least 5-6 hours. We couldn't run anymore when we got to Nalati, so we went home to rest. Moreover, our itinerary was not particularly rushed. The baby was well-behaved and fell asleep as soon as he got in the car! I sincerely suggest that babies under three years old can wait a little longer before coming. First of all, they can't eat well and rest well. Secondly, they have to sit in the car all the time. When they are in a hurry, they can't have a proper meal all day. From the adults' point of view, the baby is also suffering! However, fortunately, he had a lot of fun! The temperature difference in August is really big, and the scenic spots in the mountains are especially cold in the morning and evening! In general, this trip was really tiring, but my eyes were satisfied. I was amazed at the magic of nature along the way. The beauty of Xinjiang can only be known when you come here!
