🚉Transportation strategy:

Take the train 🚄/plane ✈️ to Urumqi first, then transfer to the train or plane to Altay City.
I highly recommend the train Y965 (hard sleeper 184, soft sleeper 284), a tourist train. Carriage 6 is the legendary KTV private room, where you can sing K, play the piano, dance, and sleep overnight. In the morning, you can also watch the sunrise on the train.
🛏Hotel Guide
Stayed in a log cabin B&B in the scenic area for 3 nights. The log house was covered with thick snow❄️. When I opened the window, I could see the endless snowy forest.
