Nami Island (Namiseom) is a semi‑artificial island in Chuncheon/Gangwon Province, spanning about 430,000 m² and home to over 30,000 trees. It’s famous for tree‑lined paths—like Metasequoia and Ginkgo Lanes—once a peanut field, now a lush retreat and filming site for the Korean drama Winter Sonata .

The Garden of Morning Calm, located nearby in Gapyeong, is Korea’s oldest private garden: ~330,000 m² featuring 20+ themed sections, 5,000 plant species, and seasonal displays—plus a dazzling winter light festival from December to March .
