Erhai Lake – The Sapphire of Dali

#chinatravel

Erhai Lake, meaning "Ear-shaped Sea," is Yunnan’s second-largest alpine lake, stretching 40km along the eastern edge of Dali. Framed by the Cangshan Mountain Range, its crystal-clear waters shimmer in shades of blue, offering some of China’s most breathtaking landscapes.

Why Visit?
🚴 Scenic Cycling – Pedal along the Lakeside Ecological Corridor, passing fishing villages, wetlands, and flower fields.
⛵ Boat Cruises – Glide across the lake on a traditional wooden boat, stopping at Xiao Putuo Island or Nanzhao Folklore Island.
📸 Photography Hotspots – Capture sunrise at Longkan Wharf, or the golden reflections at Caicun Village.
