Exploring the Sacred Peaks of Yading

📍 Yading Nature Reserve, Daocheng County, Sichuan, China

✨ Yading is a breathtaking nature reserve known for its untouched alpine scenery, sacred snow-capped peaks, and crystal-clear lakes. Often called the “Last Shangri-La,” it feels like stepping into a postcard.

✨ The area is home to three holy mountains—Chenrezig, Jambeyang, and Chanadorje—each revered in Tibetan Buddhism and surrounded by pristine valleys and colorful prayer flags.

✨ One of the most stunning highlights is Milk Lake and Five-Color Lake, both set against a dramatic backdrop of towering mountains. The turquoise water looks surreal, especially on a clear day.

✨ Hiking in Yading is both peaceful and challenging, with high altitudes making every step feel like a small victory. But the scenery is more than worth the effort.

✨ It’s best to visit in autumn (late September to October), when the foliage turns golden and the skies are usually clear. Dress in layers—it’s cold even when sunny—and prepare for limited facilities, as the area is remote.
